i had a few questions about SoCal... and the whole modified car thing.
i am in the military my car is pretty modified ( greddy TT kit 440inj, utec, cjm frk, greddy evo tt exhaust ... blah.blah blah. ) i have an out of state license plate ( yes i live here but home of record is in AZ ) if i get pulled over here will they tow my car and impound it and the whole 9 cause i hear of these peoples horror stories about this just wondeing if they can legally tow an out of state car. thanks for your help

i wouldnt worry about it if you have a AZ liscense and the car is registered in AZ.
if you get pulled over just say youre just visiting.
just dont get your car registered here or get a license here.

haha YES of course they do! it happens to a lot of us, I have been pulled over for no reason and asked to pop the hood and had to go to the state referee. but then again if you say your visiting from out of state i don't think it would matter, because your car would not necessarily be "required" to abide by CA laws if your not a resident here (not that they know of)

what ive noticed in socal well at least in the valley is if your car looks loud they will pull you over a lot more and also in the valley ( at least from my experience) a lot of the cops dont know what theyre looking for.

Never got hassle in my FD. I had all the emissions stuff removed. I actually got pulled over for out of state plate and the noise of my exhaust. As soon as he walked to the car and noticed the base sticker he pretty much told me that I SHOULD look into a quieter exhaust and then he said "thank you for serving" while he walked away. I don't know about your base but I know Navy base will require you to smog check your car no matter where it is registered as long as the car is older than 4 years.
