Thumbs up Be Careful if you SnowBoard at Big Bear and or go up there

I went out with alot of my buddies this weekend to BigBear....we had a blast. Fresh Snow everywhere, but we got one of our Snowboards stolen. I ended up paying $300 for a crappy Board that we rented.

-If you rent a board and they have insurance GET IT!
-Always watch your Board.

Besides that......Its a great time to go Snowboarding! fun fun fun If you go up make sure you take some chains for your car/suv/truck. We seen way too many 4x4 spin out and loose control.

Have Fun!

ive always wondered about this.....

say you rent a board an boots @ $40

if u dont return them they charge like $100- $150 usually (by me at least)

keeping them for the $150 would be kinda worth it no?? they give ya pretty good boards

Conditions are awesome....while it rained down here...it just snowed up there. We woke up on Sunday too so much snow it was like heaven

From: www.bigbear.com
NEW SNOW!
6 to 8 inches of snow fell yesterday (01-07-08) and 12 inches of fresh snow fell overnight giving us 16-20 inches total in the past two days. We are back to mid-winter conditions. Although it may take a little extra time getting here, conditions are well worth the drive.

thats lame. I usually never worry about leaving my gear out while im in the lodge....theres alot of them lined up. But then again, i dont have a 400+ dollar board and 200+ dollar bindings...

But who would steal a rental? Maybe someone else who rented thoguht it was theirs (if the rentals all look similar)

90% of resorts in the Tahoe area have cameras watching the "board storage areas" while your in the lodge for whatever. see if big bear does, you could get you money back. some dudes at NorthStar were being arrested one time as we were pulling out last year. love it when these losers get caught.

That's what we are hoping for....hopefully someone took it by accident.

haha funny cuz im typing at the big bear cabin that my friends and i rented right now and man the conditions are amazing! granted that this is my first time boarding on fresh powder but man it was almost perfect. getting up here was nuts though because we needed tire chains to get through and it was slippery as hell! all the scenery looked like it was something out of the movies...good times...too bad i have to return to the real world tomorrow =P

I was up there today. Snow was actually pretty great. I was able to practice jumps without worrying about the rough landing

And watching your board is just common sense. I have a crappy board so I don't care about it getting jacked but if you have a rental or an expensive one you should always have someone watching the gear.

yea i go every year around this time..its dope.

on a side note...was it AT bear or summit?

bear is more aimed at the young population than summit..leaving your board not viewable by you is not a good idea lol bastard bear "thugs" haha
