A friend of my recently told me that the law on tint has changed or something. is it true? He says that driving with tint on your front side windows is now considered a "moving violation" and fix-it tickets are no longer issued...? I was planning on getting my z tinted this weekend. Anyone want to chime in on this? thanks

a lot of people have tinted windows in socal. getting a ticket for tint is at random. ive lived in irvine for 20+ years and have never been pulled over for having tinted front driver and passenger windows. a friend of mine has had his tint for 2 years and has gotten 5 or 6 tickets for tint.

Back to Topic...

(2) The window glazing with the material applied meets all requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205 (49 C.F.R. 571.205), including the specified minimum light transmittance of 70 percent and the abrasion resistance of AS-14 glazing, as specified in that federal standard.

I heard in CA you can have 30% tint (70% transmission)... is that true? if so, I'm gonna have it retinted...
