xBox 360 - PS3 - Wii (what and why)
my girl is getting me a console for Xmas...
personally im leaning towards the 360 (again)... only game i really play is COD4 and Oblivion. i HAD a 360 already but it caught the red ring not long after the warranty was up so i threw it into the ocean. Soon after that, i FOUND a guy that can fix the 360's on craigslist
(boy do i regret that day)
anyways... whats your pick and why

PS3 because I need it for a blue ray player and I love MGS4
Xbox is nice for GOW2, but iono if I want to have that game over a BR.
Wii is the only one I have now but it's fun for multiplayer and family... your girl MAY enjoy competing in some Wii games more than other systems... like Smash Bro, Mario Cart Racing, Super Mario, etc... but then again, maybe she likes COD4

im on the market probably soon for the same thing dunno which one to get since theyre more affordable now and the drama has died down from standing in line to get one / getting beaten for a ps3...

PS3 If you don't have a Blue Ray... it's the best combo
But I can assume that EVERYBODY have a good friend with a PS3, so I'd rather get a Xbox and go to friend's place to play PS3... but I REALLY NEED A FREAKIN BR

dude it seems like the more ppl i bump into have 360's and it seems to be a great bet. only advantage the ps3 has over the 360 is that the online play is FREE... for some reason the ps3 games dont really make me "feel" like im in the game how the 360's do but iono, maybe thats just me.

I like my PS3 because it does pretty much everything youd ever want it to do. It has built in wi-fi, you can browse the internet, free online gaming (though i will admit xbox live is much more robust), built in HD media player (blu-ray), and all the other features. Its just a very very capable media center.
If gaming is your MAIN priority, i will say that the 360 is the way to go. It has better game selection, better online support, and IMO more comfortable controllers. The only thing that has me wary about a 360 is the "red ring of death." Every person i nkow who has owned a 360 has had it happen to them. One of my friends even got his warrantied and it also got the RROD in two months.

PS3 is cool, but it seems PS3 to me is more single player games where xbox is more multiplayer. Just me though. I bought a PS3 for the blue ray and havent played it much, the games havent been the best. Also it seems you play what yoru friends have. most of mine have xbox so all the online play is with friends so i got xbox. I have both and use PS3 for high quality single player games and XBOX for online with friends. They both droped in price so just get both

Yea, PS3 is a single player console in the way you don't gather your friends over to hit up the PS3....

Wii is fun when you have a butt load of ppl playing at the same time and talking mad shiet.
I personally like PS3, too bad I can't afford any systems right now. hahaha. Hey Cris... we can go to your house and play your new system.

This is why:
1. It is fully integrated with windows, hense it is an Entertainment System. I agree that PS3 is also an entertainment system BUT it does not fully "integrate" with windows (Windows Media Center). I've watched movies on my xbox360 streaming from my laptop across the room. It is absolutely flawless and the resolution is great. It integrates your TV with your computer and you can watch videos, listen to your whole music collection, and browse through your pictures from you TV using your xbox360 as a Hub. This is what made me get the xbox360 over the PS3
2. For some reason, the games that PS3 comes out are not as "involving" as xbox360 games. (This is of course a biased opinion because I have a xbox360 and I've played my friend's PS3.
3. There are more games out for the Xbox 360 then there is for the PS3. (Though this is changing really fast right now).
Even though I choose the 360 over the PS3, the PS3 still have very strong points that cannot be missed:
1. Faster processer speed + a lot better 3D graphics accelerator.
2. Blu Ray (That in itself is a good enough reason to get the PS3)
3. It's a Sony. In other words, the build quality is there and there are not as many problems as Xbox360 which Microsoft is notorious to make many mistakes on their products before it is perfected. (Make sure you get the 2nd gen Xbox360... or just get the elite...).
Wii, I won't even bother mentioning unless you are planning to have kids with your girl sometime soon...
(In other words... a PARTY system. Not fun to play by yourself...)

i would say tell the gf to buy u a 360 then....
open yourself a sony credit card and buy urself a ps3 (they are knocking off $150 for new card holders so ps3 for 250 bucks)
and voila best of both worlds
