***funny statement when asians get harrassed just as much other minorities***
sorry to hear OP about the whole situation, i think its pretty ridiculous because you stated it was only 30 min after sun down and you were a block away from your destination.
Im assuming it is Central station, pretty slow there where crime is minimal compared to their neighbor's Rampart, Wilshire and South East

sorry to here that, i also got fix ticket for tint and no front plate in the parking lot two days ago, still seeking the solution. cops in LA suck, they dont pay attention on the potential thief, but what ur car looks like. my car just have 30% tint and he wrote the ticket on 6:30pm with "280z" on the model space. he must check my car very carefully, but doesn't care about what car it is. ****in bustard

A budget shortfall and having to pay for the octuplets will do that.
lol... I remember driving my black Z at night on the freeway for 20 minutes before realizing my lights weren't on... people were highbeaming me like crazy... and I thought they were crazy... too baked...
It never hurts to go in to court and ask for a fee reduction; especially right now. However, you will have to provide an explaination as to why you need it reduced and be able to pay it that day. I see these busted down all the time, just for asking.
On a separate note, I don't understand why the cop is considered "being a dick" when, you admit, you didn't have your lights on and you should have. Now, being condesending and a jerk is wrong and you should speak to his watch Sgt. about that. As well as the undue time delay. 45 min for traffic citation is WAY too long. In fact, I think you might have a case on that one unless there is reasonable cause for a lengthy detainment. Let me check on that one tomorrow at work.

Driving without your lights is a regular mistake by drivers who have had too much to drink...he was probably hoping to write up a DUI and when he saw you weren't drunk and didn't smell alcohol, he was pissed...he followed you in hopes that you might swerve or give him reason to check more for DUI....
