Default SD Day Trip

My GF and I are planning on going to SD this sunday. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on places to go to. Any info will help. Im also looking for those nice but low key places. Not places like the Zoo or sea world. Thanks!

A few of my friends and I went to Gaslamp district several weeks ago. Really fun area if you like bar/club hopping.

Downtown and La Jolla would be your best bet. The other beaches frankly aren't nice, and the rest of SD i just like any other town (in terms of what the city itself has).

If the weather is nice and you fee like a beach day, Mission Beach is fun and there is always some great people watching.

Food -- Old Town Mexican Cafe is awesome (and Old town is a cool in its own right)

if you like ribs, go to Phil's BBQ near the sports arena. if you like sushi, go to Ra in downtown. if you like mexican, go to Old Town Cafe in old town.

...And just like most nude beaches in the U.S., it's probably full of old people.

Food
Pacific beach - EZ Jay's: awesome sandwiches
All over SD - Roberto's, Alberto's, Berto's: great taco shops, get the carne asada fries
Downtown - Sushi Deli: Great sushi, good prices, great sake/beer specials
Convoy - tons of asian food: if you like ramen try out Tajima's
Phils, but someone already mentioned that one

Daytime
to hang out, balboa park is great. not just the zoo but there's a ton of just walking around with tons to see. pacific beach is cool to walk around, lots of small shops and bars. the beach itself is okay. mission beach is cool, kinda crowded but still nice.

Nightlife
Pacific beach: bars/clubs/lounges
Old Town: i never really liked it there but people seem to have fun
Downtown: clubs - there are plenty but i always had fun at Stingary's.

I mentioned PB a lot, mostly that's where i hung out in college. That was kind of the scene when i was there.

If you can stay the night I would really suggest you do so. Hang out all day at the beaches, etc. and hit up the Gaslamp district at night.
