Angry Speed ticket fine increased????!

I got a speeding ticket for doing 60 in 45 and the fine came out to be $590??? Is this correct? I thought it was like $190 wtf? The violation is VC 22350 - BASIC SPEED : Infraction and correctable... Please tell me this isn't right... This is rediculous

edit:
Hey guys, actually it was $290 for the ticket, but because I didn't pay it, it increased to $590...

The reason I didn't pay for it was because I moved to a new address and forgot to apply for change of address on my DL so the popo sent the bail amount to my old address. I have already mailed in a change of address form to DMV but it was too late since deadline to pay for it was Feb 5, 2010. I called the court clerk and she said to just goto court and explain to the judge why I didn't pay................... I'm hoping the judge will be kind enough to reduce the fine; keeping fingers crossed

Its all in the interest of public safety. If they raise the fines, people are less likely to speed. What you did what reckless and negligent. You could have killed someone.

Set a court date up, and speak to a judge on getting it reduced.

and dont forget...if the libs on here had their way you would pay more cause you make more $$$ and you are able to afford a heftier fine. Its the anti-american way people!!!

590 is high though! I paid 150 for doing well over 20mph over the speed limit in GA.

VC = Virginia commonwealth? they rip new a-holes on tickets.

i honestly heard my brother tell me that some of the police told him that moving violations here in cali are minimum of $500 !!! they passed a law or something that just jacked up all the prices... kinda lame now but i guess we gotta compensate for our broke *** economy and state..

thank you Obama for the CHANGE, thank you BUSH for using all of our trillions of dollars in surplus that Clinton worked hard to attain.... tsk tsk

Wow that is steep! But in their eyes it will make you think twice about doing it again. Good luck trying to get it reduced!

Dang. That's some mob-loan-sharkin' stuff. Better pay or they may send Vinnie to break your knee caps.
