It's free to hangout but it's $40.00 to get 2 timed runs. I went last year...registered for this year too.

Just signed up for the San Diego weekend. Sunday 3/21, group 7.

Looks like fun. Even if they won't let us drive our cars

So who went?

We went yesterday. Got a 35.705 the first run then a 34.927 the second run (0.005 seconds faster than my buddy). I was happy because last year I was 3rd out of 4 guys..the first 2 being a good 3-4 seconds faster. With a few months of autocross training, I improved enough to be fastest this year out of the same group of guys.

Didn't seem as interesting as last year...maybe cuz it was new and all. The scheduling was kind of screwy too...didn't have much time for the clinics between the driver meeting and the run groups.

My wife had a blast though...she watched last year but this year she drove (ended up with a 40.777 sec time). She also ran the go-karts with my friends. She's all hyped up now.

The hotdogs there were tasty too...maybe I was just hungry or something.

I was there with a few friends. Had a pretty good time, it was def. worth the $40.

My friend parked his blue STI behind a Blue Z Coupe in the parking lot - don't know if that belonged to anyone on this board.

It was my first autocross experience and I scored a 39 on my first run and a 37 on my last. Will def. sign up for future autocross events in the future.

Check out www.solo2.com. That's the socal regional autocross organization. I go every month now...first full season. There's a couple of Z's that go regularly including myself. Maybe we'll see you there.

34.9 was my best, I totally screwed it up by losing way too much speed on the last turn.

Overall I was a little bit dissapointed. $40 and a long drive in traffic to run twice around the course. I think it should have been two laps each. Had fun tho, and it triggered some interest in autocross for me. I'll check out solo2.com for scheduling.

Results are up.

http://www.mazdarevitup.com/results/f_default.asp

I was 632 overall on the results page but 627 overall when counting tie scores.

The top 2 finishers for the OC event are also socal CSCC members (4 out of the top 10 are) so come on out...the practice and experience will definitely improve your times. The top spot is also national number 1 though it remains to be seen how long that will last since only 2 cities have been covered so far.
