Question Anyone Stopped by the POLICE for thier MODS ?

I recently added the RT cats to my
set up. Along with the NISMO Exhaust and
CAI it is loud as FUUCK. I love it!

The other day I saw an unmarked Police car
with a Pulled over Riced out Civic.

The cops had the hood popped and where
looking under the car with flash lights.
It looked like he was stopped and being
inspected for MODS.

Whenever I am around the cops I try my best
to keep the engine quite. under 2500 RPMS
and I am ok. Over that and every car on the
road knows I am there.

Has Anyone been stopped by any of So Cal's
finest for your Exhaust being too loud ?
or any of your Mods?

Whats your story?

I am not in Cali but I saw a news story a while back where the cops in Cali were pulling over cars looking for CARB EO stickers that were parked at a hang out.

It's not the look of the cats that worry me it's the Roaring Growl
they make. hehe

Got pulled over for speeding last month, cop asked about the exhaust, but he was a real nice guy and I managed to talk my way out of a ticket. But I agree, they're real loud when you lean into in.

Smile Pulled Over

Yes

Pulled over on the 210 Frewway west in Sylmar.

The CHP asked me about a Z that looked like mine racing in this same area in the morning - I told him this car eats tires and this was the first time I drove it to work in three months. We had a good old gab fest, and while wwe were outside the car talking a SS 350Z ran past at about 100 MPH. The guy said sorry and got into his car to go after her.

Liz350

You nasty driver.

That is funny... I got my first ticket ever in my black Z doing 80 on the 210 as well!!! Kinda sucked because there was NO ONE on the road... but then again... that made me an easy target.

Yes

After 200 plus miles they calmed down just a tiny bit.
They sound even better now. Sound more like a race car now. They are loud. I repeat they are LOUD.
but you know how it goes. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

With my current Mod Set up my Z's performance has improved nicely.

I'd recommend them.

Snoopy, you live! I thought you were dumping her? Get a new tranny??!?

Anyways, I haven't been pulled over *knocking on wood as I type*, but as far as I understand the cops have a good amount of leway when it comes to pulling over a car and writing a "fixit" ticket. I've heard of people carrying around their CARB certs for their mods paperclipped to their registration, that way when the cop pulls them over they can possibly option not to write up the fixit ticket.

However, I personally would like to see all those friggin motorcycles with the "bubbly" sounding exhaust get tickets. I can't stand it when I'm at an outdoor restaurant or grabbing coffee or something and you can hear the bike from like half a mile away. . . Those guys aggrivate me, b/c they're loud as hell even @ idle. . .

Anyways, there's my rant. Also, has anyone noticed that the 605 is basically the so-cal autobahn? I swear, last time I rolled up to hollywood I took the 605, and I was pulling 90+ the whole time --- STAYING WITH TRAFFIC! A couple of cars were in the slower lanes doing like 70-80, but there had to be about 20 of us making the speed of traffic. Ahh, good times, good times...

No tint on our cars are legal except Llumar 50% on the side.
Any other tint, any shade, they can pull you over and
fine or fixit ticket you for the tint. You are not allowed to
have tint on the side front windows
I have been pulled over and fined for my tint which is 35%.
I didn't think it to be that bad, but I guess it was bad enough for some cop to make my day.

I also got pulled over for front liscense and now must fix it by next week.

Today as I drove past a cop, he popped his lights on, did a U turn and zoomed up behind me, turned off the flashing lights and backed off for 20 seconds (probably to read my plates) and then zoomed up to my side, did it for a few seconds to intimidate and check me out, and zoomed behind me again and turned left and back around....go figure.....
