Next Group Events...?
Hello everyone..
In an effort to get everyone off of the other
thread, I am posting this to get an idea of what everyone would like to do next....
Here are some ideas that I have...Feel free to post yours, or comment on mine
1. Catalina
I think that this would be a good choice in the near future..It is not a place where you could bring your cars..It is more about the PEOPLE and having fun...With the recent events, I think this needs to be done ASAP.
2. Beach bash
El Diablo was supposed to plan this but I guess not
(j/k Clint)
zxsaint said he would plan it, as long as I helped..So this might be planned in the near future..summertime
3. Vegas drive
A weekend trip to vegas..Im leaving today, anyone down to roll with me?
It would be fun....Leave Friday morning, roll up to Vegas, check out the casinos, clubs..Even a nice drive thru Red Rock Canyons would be great.
Those are just a few ideas...Feel free to add comments and so forth.

But you gotta plan carefully what time to go. I think Friday morning is good. Friday afternoon and evening are miserable on I-15. I am not spending 4 hours in stop and go traffic with my Tilton clutch and flywheel. And coming back Sunday afternoon/evening is just as bad. Late Sunday night works though.
Zs and Casinos are a good mix. I stayed at a Casino hotel in Pahrump during my weekend at Spring Mountain Raceway.

how about dinner and some karting action at DROMO 1. For those of you who have never been, it isn't your "miniture golf" slick track... check out the website for more details. I've done Dromo 1 group nights with other forums and it seems to work out well.

) in June is none other then a Catalina Trip . If a Catalina Trip with fellow Z owners is what you are looking for, this might be perfect!
Umm...thanks for that info...I saw that on there before..Kash and I are planning on attending the convention in June..Don't know if we'll be attending that trip though..
Hey question, are you SURE you're not a GroupZ affiliate?

Chances are we will meet before June, but if not, you might see me at the convention. I'll probably be doing traffic control or some other menial task for GroupZ, but hopefully I can be of assistance to you when you park.

Just a member of the club, and not even an active member. Truth of the matter is that I have done more Z related stuff outside of the club (such as runs with AudioPat, Tom Jones, hpz, any many others here) then I have with the club.
Here's a funny (and timely) story:
The only thing I have done so far as a member of GroupZ (other then attend a few club meetings) was at last years Motorsport event in Orange. I entered my car in the event and parked in the GroupZ area, along with some other forum members. Shortly thereafter, a large group of My350Z.com people arrived in their 350Z's, and since they weren't GroupZ members, parked across the street from where a few of us early birds were parked. The other 350Z owners moved their cars to join up with the my350z.com people, but I stayed put. I wasn't upset that the people moved to join their forum friends, and even though I would've liked to move, I felt a bit obligated to stay with actual club that I was a member of.
Of course, this doesn't mean that I (or anyone) can't be a member of more then one car organization. Other then a $30 per year membership fee for GroupZ, it doesn't really 'cost' me anything to be a member of their club. And for that $30, I get the opportunity to particpate in as many (or as few) events that they have going on. I feel it's worth it, and feel I am giving something small back to the local Z community.
I also haven't forgotten (and I'm sure some of you remember) that the first photos we saw of an actual pre-production 350Z was at a GroupZ car show on Nissan's property, almost 2 years ago exactly. It was because of GroupZ that this 350Z was available for some low-class, law-breaking, ethically-challenged 350Z pre-orderer to sneak some photos of the car, and post them on this forum, which basically was the umph that my350z.com needed to separate itself from the other early 350Z websites.
GroupZ has been a part of this forum in more ways then most of us realize, and in ways that GroupZ can not vocally take credit for.
I hope no one thinks I am pressuring them to join the club. My intention is only to try and inform people about the club.
Jeff
PS: One last thing if you are planning on entering your car at Motorsports: If you have a choice on which side of the street to park on, go for the south side. You can sit on the grass, and have shade from the office buildings. The north side is way exposed. (The my350z.com guys/gals were on the shady-south side last year - the bastards) :-)
