I was quite surprised at how poor traction can subject the Z to the performance levels of average vehicles. Case in point: Yesterday late night, for shiggles, I raced a new Tacoma PreRunner SR5 from a dig on Friar's Rd. He stayed with me throughout 1st, continued to stay with me on the 1-2 shift (which resulted in absolute chaotic wheelspin which caused my car to spin tires and wiggle around). However, by the end of 2nd, it was lights out...

Still, I am pissed that I can no longer drop the hammer on 1st gear at 3K rpm or above, because all hell breaks loose on the tires and I literally don't move.

I guess it's time for new tires!
Dude, get some wider rubber. Or *cough new rims...

shinkuu,

we still meet on tues. make sure you introduce yourself. we see a lot of cats come through, fart around for a bit, then take off without us meeting them. congrats on your Z.

Damn Ray that sucks for your motor. I thought you were going to buy someone's spare for dirt cheap. Good luck

Inlaws? Lame man, put your foot down. Car first! Haha. I didn't show either, bro's bday.

I'm looking to put an alarm on my 240, something with a tilt sensor. I've got a Viper alarm on the G, but wondering if you had any better suggestions. Nothing too fancy, just something that will go off if someone breaks in or tries to steal the wheels. Also a place to purchase and get it installed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, I didn't go either. Was in Oakland all day on business and didn't get back 'til 9 or so.

As for your alarm, any budget alarm with a shock sensor should be good. If you want to guarantee they can't get close enough to get the wheels, you can add a motion detector, but they are a pain. I had one on an old car and I always had to adjust the sensitivity since if it rained hard enough, the water running down the windshield could trip it. I'd recommend StreetNoyz by sports arena for stereo stuff, but if you want to be budget, any stereo chain should be able to install the alarm.

Dude I have all weekend. I'm going up to Turbonetics Thur night for the Scion day Sat. We are all going out Friday night up there with none other then Abbie Rattay for St. Patty's day. Oh yeah and some other models too. Abbie has challenged me to a whiskey drinking contest as I hear it.

I will settle for nothing less than you taking shots off Abbie's headlights. Don't disappoint us Rob.

We need pics too Rob. Those are fun for the whole family.

Rob (audiracer), Thanks for the advice. Any particular brand to recommend? I've see Viper and Compustar get a lot of praise on g35driver.

Not sure, I haven't bought an aftermarket alarm in a while. From what I remember, many of them are built by the same companies and just branded differently. Unless you are looking for anything super fancy, I'd just go with a budget priced brand that you've at least heard of. The store will usually stand behind their install anyway. Just make sure that you can add features to the alarm if you want.

Oh trust me if she gets drunk enough to make a bad decision, maybe play a little game called just the tip, just a little bit just to see if it fits, I will be video taping the entire action.

you gotta start somewhere. You'll add some color to the almost all Gunmetal GTG. Nice Z.
