Default Stickies

Some people like them, some people hate them. I'd like to pretty much get rid of them if nobody minds, because I think it makes the most sense. Let me know what you think if you care one way or the other. Thanks.

Maybe you should make this thread a sticky so no one misses it

:ducks:

j/k

I think the hot threads have a tendency to stay at the top anyway, and then theres always the good old fashion way to get them to the top if need be *bump*

Hehe. No reason to duck. I know what you mean, and totally agree. The only reason I started doing the sticky thing with meets was because it looked like that was the trend, but it was about a week late.

I'll just get rid of all of them, and if someone complains stick them back up.

Personally, I liked them... at least the meets being stickied. I don't know about the "drive carfully" and "mod list" ones...

Oh man. Well I guess you go to a lot of them, and that's probably the main reason to have regional forums. Can we get some more opinions? I mean, if enough people want it done, it's no problem. I just don't know the popular opinion right now.

Oh yeah, neither do I.

I personally don't really care but if the thread is posted in-advance enough, the thread may not get its deserved "heat". I guess we will keep it hot the old-fashioned way... "bump".

The Sticky posts are useful for Events. I like when I come into the Socal section and see the scheduled events right up top.

Most events once you reply or sign up there isnt much more posting your going to do. For the most part There isnt a lot of back and forth conversation in an event Thread.

Events will be missed and you will have to hunt for them.

You'll probably see daily bumps to keep those posts on the first page.

I only saw one member complain about the posts and they were removed.

I think a few stickies is a great way to organize the SoCal Forum.

I know it's a Drag to do for Todd all the time. But for the big events sticky posts do make it easier to find them.

It's really up to the mods

It's no problem for me. It only takes about 30 seconds/week

Oh I know, but I don't really care either way, so I'm trying to find out what people want.

So now people can see what it's like without stickies, at least, to compare. I'll probably just re-stick them tomorrow.

I agree with Bullish and El Diablo. Sticky the upcoming events..Not the mod list...At least we can see the upcoming events right at the top...The rest, we can look for, or "bump" it to keep it alive. I think it looks harder to find things...Just my $0.02.

Thumper, the mods have been taking the events off when the dates have passed.

Oh yeah, it would help if you guys can always write the meet threads with a date first, like this:

M/D/YY: place or title or whatever

It seems silly to have the year, but that's handy just in case it comes up in a search next year. It'd probably be clearer if everyone agrees on the same date format. I don't mean to make it a rule or anything, but just a guideline for those in-the-know as a matter of convenience.

Stickies are like campaign posters......they are fine up until election day (date of event)........but should be gone the day after.

Yeah, I know, and I've been doing it for many weeks to try and make this a better place.

Just PM me if I've missed anything, or post it in this thread if that's easier.
