Default USC Students

I'm posting this for a friend who is starting a motorsports club at USC:

Hey guys I'm looking to start up a car club at USC. I'm looking for anyone to help me run the club during the school year.
The club is going to focus around any auto motorsport and is open to domestics and imports. It doesn't matter what type of car you have.

In fact, even if you or your friends don't have a car at SC, if you are a car enthusiast, you should still join since there will be some events not involving cars.

Similar to other clubs, while the title is Motorsports, there will be events which aren't always centered around the title of the club.

If we get enough members, the club should be able to provide discounts from vendors and motorsport events.

Preferably I'd like someone that knows alot about the domestic and european market to help me (I have an Evo so I have no knowledge of the local vendors available for both), but help from anyone would be great.

I have talked to the UCLA car club president and I'm sure we could provide joint events in the future.

I will explain alot more in detail of what I have planned. The deadline for the club to be recognized is October 1st - idealy I'd like to have the club recognized way before this since the school year has already started.

If you have seen this thread on other forums please don't label it spamming. I am just trying to find USC students that are car enthusiasts.

If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to contact me through email or AIM (I might miss your PM or reply to this thread). Also, please forward this to other friends attending USC that would be interested. Thanks!

The current "car club" at USC is part of the Engineering department. They actually build a car and race it. The new motorsports club is not engineering-based.

I'm an alumnus and work at USC Viterbi School of Engineering so I park at PSA along with a few other Z's including one modded Z. It would be cool to see a car club...I may be interested in participating, not sure yet since I am already part of a driving crew for autocross and road course events. Either way, good luck to your friend!

Although USC is the university of networking and hookups, this does not apply to admissions. The only way you'd get in with hookups is if your parents have worked for USC for 15 years or you're the love child of the provost.

HEHEHE.. USC. Great school. But I always get the same response from the USC candidates (when I go recruting there) when I reply to their popular question of "Are you a USC Alumni?"

"Oh, the other school!"

I think that's funny.

me... a bruin.

Yes, Bruin forever!

Ok j/k, I'm not here to start a UCLA vs USC argument.

My name is James Liu, the UCLA car club president that Dennis was talking about. Hopefully both UCLA and USC students can join their respective clubs and "maybe" (big maybe) we'll have joint events together that features a little UCLA vs USC driving event or something like that? Depending on popular demand, Dennis and I will decide whether to omit the "who's got the nicer looking car" (show and shine) contest or not. Cause you know, show and shine don't mean nothin but about who's got the richer daddy .

Weird, the IMG seems to only show up when it wants to. In case you guys can't see it, this is basically what says:

The first official meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 5th, in THH! Meet in front of THH for more info.

We will be on Trousdale all week. Stop by the booth for more info. Thanks! Lookin forward to meeting everyone that can make it.

Harman Motive? I wonder if Logan Yoshida has something to do with this since he just graduated from USC and works for Harman.
