Im getting sick of rolling with my front plate I think that it takes away from the look of the Z. How many of you in Austin have had any issues with getting pulled over for this? If there are any Austin cops in here, please chime in.

I have not had a front plate in about 8 1/2 years on all of my cars and not had any trouble.

The only time I ever got a warning was when got my first 944. It was shipped from Germany and I left the german front plate on. They just told me that I had to take it off.

I've gotten speeding tickets in Austin in all 3 of my cars with no front plate, and I've never gotten a ticket for no front license plate. I've also never been pulled over for not having a front license plate in austin.

In addition, the ticket doesn't count against your insurance, so if I did get a ticket, I'd just consider it a "tax" for the privilege of not running a front license plate, and I can live with that (even though the law is retarded).

I've never had a front plate and the only time I had an issue was parking at the airport, they gave me a 25 dollar ticket twice at LAX but other than that I've never even had an issue in Texas.

wtf? if a car is on private property, they have no right unless its in a contract (like a lease). Did you park in the street?

I've had my front plates off now for about a year and haven't had any problems so far. I've been pulled over twice for speed issues, but nothing was ever said about my front plates missing.

Got a ticket for it a few weeks back, first one in about a year owning the Z with no front plate. Wasn't a fix-it though, $95 ticket. You believe that ish? Only reason he pulled me over was for the plate, I was going 27 in a 30, not accelerating.

Can anyone else from Austin chime in and verify if there is truly money involved or just a simple fix it ticket?

No problem so far. It's been off for about 2 years now. I just keep it in in my car and iff i get pulled over I will tell them my bracket broke and I'm ordering a new one.
