Jotech or Scarab, and imo, if i put turbos on it sleeves just make the motor last that much longer, it will also allow for higher PSI, stroker kit 4k heads 3k and turbo kit 7k.

ah, you need to do a lot more research. i hope you are ready to plop down 30k. scarab isnt setup for that type of build. jotech could do it but i would recommend sgp in houston for a texas shop or shipping the car off to forged, gtm, or performance factory.

dont forget a ems,
haltech $2,200 or fcon with all accessories $3200
hks 1000cc injectors $1200
gauges $600
fuel return $1000
upgraded clutch and flywheel $1200 minimum but the power you are going to put down with that setup $2200 (and no your jwt will not hold it)
misc stuffs, oil catch can, upgrade radiator, hoses .. lets just say about $1000
exhaust $1200 for 3" inch something. (and no, your injen will not be sufficient)
then labor, around $6,000 tuned, and thats being conservative.

good luck, go read some more.

indeed you are correct Jason, probly be more that what i posted but i am getting somethings kicked to me, yeah the bill is gonna be huge, thats why i spread it out over a few years lol it will be fun once i get it all completed though.

edit : So Jason how would you order the 3? would you suggest turbos then go from there or what? (all non-insulting advice appreciated)

o and the JWT can hold 550 crank HP, but yeah if i went all three a serious clutch would definatly be in order

Well from my research, I would NOT get a sleeved block! Too much heat; look at Alberto's thread and what he wishes he would do differently

1. Get Arias ED pistons, Eagle rods, and L19 studs and call it a day; basically get the S1 shortblock from Forged or the BuiltZMotor. This combo will hold 600+rwhp

2.Then, dont get the JWT, get the Greddy kit. The stock 18gs in the greddy will be more than enough for 600+

3.Finally, get either the Fcon, Haltech, or ProEFI. Out of the three, the ProEFI is the cheapest but all 3 will be a perfect combo for your setup.

This isnt in order, but to be most cost effective, they should be done at the same time. EX: if you build you have to pull the motor, so while it is out, have the kit and EMS done at the same time

some people don't trust Eagle rods, they may suggest BC rods and CP pistons.

Well they have been proven up to and beyond 600+rwhp. Plus they are a lot more cost effective than over rods on the market

+1, no reason to spend double, the eagles have shown to be solid performer in the VQ.

honestly, how much money do you want to spend initially? that might be the deciding factor. i know most people go turbo and then build later.

if you go for the turbos first make sure you get everything that you would need for the big build. no sense in wasting money.

jwt tuner kit if possible
hks 1000cc injectors
haltech or fcon
fuel return
gauges

get a good safe tune and call it a day until its time to finish with stroker kit and built bottom end.
at that time upgrade the drivetrain and exhaust

make sure you have a second car. you could be down at least 2 weeks probably more.

i like the LS1 comment, chevy still has a part of my heart, i am gonna spend 10 to 15 grand at first, what i was thinking was the stroker/forged internals + an EMS with injectors etc would be my first step.

and i think the same way you do golfin with getting it all done at once, and there is a possibility that i might do that, but i don't trust my itch to stay away for that long.

OO yeah and with F/I i am still uneasy of the so called "safe tunes" lol, all the work i have very done (torn down and rebuilt about 16 engines) never had F/I but i have seen the damage that boost can do to the block, thats my reasoning for building the motor first....... and there is a saying "There ain't no replacement for displacement" but i have about 6-8 months before the first big spend/step

I know about that itch! I was 100% going FI last summer but then I knew I needed a DD at some point so I used my monies for that. Now Im back in the same FI boat again! Just dont jump the gun, and learn from guys like Alberto and Eagletangreen. They have done more for the community than most give them credit for.

And, you dont need to go crazy with the build to get 550+rwhp or. Intense just has pistons, rods, oem headgaskets, and L19 studs and put down 630rwhp on the Powerlab GT35r kit. Sure a stroker has more displacement but use the extra money you save by not going 4.2 and put it into a great ems, tune, and supporting mods. Thats my 2cents
