not so worried about water temp and as much as i'd like to remove the condensor and fans from this car - it is still my daily lol - I was worried about that ol' stock radiator giving up on me though which was really the motivation to swap to that koyo
thank you again - I had not thought of oil temp at all - anyone got a few greddy's they aren't using :P haha good greif 700 dollars for a cooler....
- i'm pretty much stock... ish regarding setup - trying not to venture too much further away from that -
260 is high ish if you are using conventional oil - i think you are ok if your using most of the synthetics out there, simply swap it out when track day is over -
- mobile 1 says "Mobil 1 Racing oils offer high-temperature protection at temperatures over 500°F (260°C) and are suitable for temperature protection where supercharging and turbo-charging is employed." i'm not force induction and i've been running mobile 1 (although not the race weight) the standard synthetic oil says "Pours at temperatures as low as
-40ºF and protects at oil temperatures as high as 500ºF."
maybe i am interpreting their information wrong - i think getting to 360 - 400 though is way out of normal for oil temp 320 is a cause to remove your foot from the throttle unless your going for checker flag lol

prt performance in lewsiville by steve kahn (just google his name... everything good) i have the HR engine and got 8hp out of it $675 total. on mustang dyno it read 275 hp, from everything i have seen they read 10-15% lower than a dynojet
the throttle response is ALOT better and overall seems to have more spunk

^on a tune for na or fi it's not how much gains u get but having all ur mods working together on ur car and not leaning out. Soon as my motor is broken in I'll be heading back to Steve's with a bigger fuel pump, fuel return, injectors and hopefully boost controller to see what he can safely get out of my setup. I'm not gonna play the high numbers game but just want a good reliable number

Skrilla the tstat is on the front of the motor on driver side. It's the piece that has the lower radiator hose and if you still have the hose running across the timing cover connected to it. Should have 3 bolts

I felt a huge difference in the response & throttle....and this was before my UpRev tune.
It did go pretty easy...but I had Jason there to coach me along....Jake was there also. One side is really wast to get to...the other is a bit trickier.
I replaced mine with the oem plugs...I read that the other plugs can cause issues. Since your not gonna really gain any HP from it or huge gas mileage benefits, then I would go with a nice set of fresh oem plugs.

I changed my plugs around 45k-50k....I wasn't gonna wait until 100k...are you kidding me ?

We did it at Jason's during that huge DIY at his old place.....you were there.

Man I'm going to have my own little tech day. Brake swap, shock swap, spark plugs. I better start thinking about all the little stuff and knock it out in one day. lol

nice, I had a huge lean issue, which was still factory safe but man was it sapping power. I'm almost done getting the parts for CC so I can switch maps like a boss,
I went 235 on my DSM, keep her tuned/maintained or prepare to spend for a block, oil changes and plugs at least and she will be running great for a few more years

Yea i take good care of her but i'm more concerned with the stress on the engine during the tune....not sure how to feel about getting it tuned at this point with just about 150k. I still may just do it anyway

Yep I remember it was the tech day at Jason's house. So you actually felt a difference when changing plugs? I'm at 53k also. Maybe I should think about doing that.
