Okay 350Z gurus, my car wouldn't start this morning. Turned the key, listened to it chug a bit, then turned the key off. Then, I heard this sound like something was powering down or unwinding. I've never heard that before. I tried a couple of more times, and same thing. No start, but power down noise after releasing the key. I let it sit for a couple of minutes, then it finally cranked. It had good charge on the battery (at least the gauge said so). I mentioned it to a guy at work, and he thought it might be the starter trying to go out. Any ideas?

Hey Guys,
I would like to say a Big " Thank You " to Eric @ Wheel Repair Solutions !
He called me out of the blue & offered to give me a free spare tire ......A Pirelli P Zero Rosso...the same rear tire I have on the Z now.
I guess there was a tire that was going to be trashed...but it was plenty good and he remembered my tires & sizes from when they re-painted my Volks. How cool is that !
He is a very honest & well experienced guy to bring any wheel problems with. So if you have Rash or bends I would give them a call and ask for Eric.
I wouldn't say he will get a free tire....but he will definitely treat you right.
Thanks again Eric.

that's pretty thoughtful.
thanks to my empty bank account i'm practically driving around on racing slicks...my poor Z has to go through these tough economic times as well.

Hey Jake, today I was driving on the freeway and stayed at a constant 70 mph with my 4.08s and my rpms were at 3000rpm after about 5-10 minuites of driving like that I started smelling something burning or heating up. I'm more than sure it was my new clutch and flywheel. I emidiately slowed it down to 60mph, all I really want to know is if it's ok to do that of or t say off the freeway for a while?

last time we tried to find a tire the right size we ended up in arlington, geeeee
hopefully i'll have better luck than that this time around.
i'm really weird about having 4 matching tires, but at these point it doesn't matter.

yes they are used, but its very possible to find really good tires for great prices. I have found michelin pilot sports, kdw's, RT615's, etc..
Where do they come from:
If you have a front end collision that totals your car that had 3 month old tires on it, sure the front tires are gonners, but the rears get removed and car goes to the junk yard.
have you ever seen tires on any of the cars at the junk yard?? nope....
