^^^just dont expect big gains...if you get 5 extra ponies - I'd be surprised... $360 is a nice chunk of change that you get other things with and still get the same amt of HP...

Just my opinion though - Im sure someone who has had a good experience there will chime in...

UPREV ftw!!

oh ok well my buddy told me that i was running way to rich idle and wot and that my buddy in his subie notice that i was blow black smoke on shift at wot. and if i'm struggling against a practically stock z then something is definately wrong with my tuning.
i know 360 is a chunk of change but i'm tired of running a stock map tune. if i don't like what i see then i will be changing tunes and going turboxs cuz i just purchase a sts kit just want to see where my z was at before a tune and after tune and see what i gain after turbo install but turbo won't be installed until i get back from my deployment which will be about 4 to 6 months from now lol

Cobb is actually phasing out the AP for the Z/G's just so you know. They will still offer support and stuff but won't be upgrading them after sometime in August.

Anyways can you give me your opinions on their dyno tuning. thanks
Well, I can't speak much from the Nissan side, but I was looking at picking up the AP for my car only because I have a base, and I don't want to have to lug a lap top around to load different tunes. The ability to map switch on the fly is nice...but I like the reviews on the UpRev. I'm honestly pretty torn between the two, having Cobb local to us to get a pro tune.

That being said, coming from the Mazda side (Speed3), they (Cobb Plano using a Cobb AP) are the only guys I personally would trust to tune the Speed3 or Speed6, and if you ask anyone else in the Mazda market, it is the same basic answer. The guys there are pretty cool guys, I hang out with a few of them every Thursday. They really know what they are doing.

Kevin Hiest (the marketing guy at the Plano location) told me a while back they were planning on nixing the AP for the Z because there just wasn't a huge market for it, that short of forced induction the car was supposed to be pretty well tuned from the factory, so there isn't a ton of power to get out of it.

If nothing else, they got a nice facility, and they host a meet the first Thursday of every month.

^^^sall good - COBB blew a SC G35 sedan once....HOWEVER - they did replace the entire motor... at least you saved yourself some cash...

I have to admit - they are phenomenal on subaru and I guess mazda... no luck with the Z though..

I may have to lug a laptop to get my data logs, but Im at least seeing results vs wondering why I spent 700 bucks for no results if any..

At your situation Uprev is one best choice imo. You can simply get NA tune and go to local dyno. Also you can use it when u go FI.

If you are going to FI, keep this advice.

Skip utec, save more $ go with uprev or standalone.
Your best bet is jtran in houston or uprev in austin for tunning your Z. Those two shops I can trust and I bet whole this community agree with me they are best VQ shop in TX.

I have a shipping company and jtran might can pick your car if you are not far away.

If you are putting the kit yourself, make sure ask shop to look over BEFORE put it on dyno. You pay their hour labor or half hour for doing this(they may not charge) but that can save you something...

Not yet, I'm looking for feedback from those who running FI.

Yeah I just decided to doing at home from now. Last time when I got my s2000 oil change I figured it would be better doing at home since Im already taking my SUV to oil change place. I run a lot with SUV, prob 2000+ mil/month so I spend prety a lot for just SUV already.
