Just take out lots of weight. That's the best 1/4 mile mod I've done so far.

I've taken out most of the interior panels before. It helps, but not too much. The panels are very light (some 06+ panels are slightly heavier than 03-05).

If you're looking for power, get test pipes (or high flow cats). That'll give you the most (hfc's a little less).
ordered Megan Res Tests
There are other ways of making power, but each modification will come with its own disclaimer (that's why you read and not just take people's words at face value). HR's respond better to mods than DE's, so it shouldn't be too hard to make good power. I suggest you do a search and read about them. This forum has all the information you'll need.
Sounds like the best advice
Nismo suspension is good, but coilovers will allow for more flexibility/adjustability for various situations. And unless you spend more money than you're currently thinking of spending, I'd give up on the Lambo dream.
Would like to stay around 10k
And the stock HR can do 500whp with a good tune, no problem.

Remember that all the power mods and suspension mods don't mean **** if the driver sucks. What do your current time slips look like?
I am moving from launching a FWD 290hp eclipse so driving this z is cake. Haven't been to a track yet.
And what do you mean by your last sentence? What do you think will be the benefits of the x pipe and why?
Was told the x02 exhaust with tests will be absolutly unbearable. So if it is I will just add the X pipe to quiet it down.

Thanks again for the help and direction. I am excited to start really changing my Z. I was actually very close to getting a SC for my eclipse, although it was only 4k brand new and made 500whp. The Z is quite a bit more expensive for those numbers but I am sure its worth it.

Sorry Adam, but mine went to Eric when I got his.....Otherwise I would be selling them. I have that PlasticX compound to clean them up if you need it.

Dang Chris isn't the z your daily? Why did you gut it lol? Oh I know this is late but ROFL at showing up at MK on the wrong day

+10000000 on Uprev. You are better off making the drive to Austin and getting it tuned there. It isn't that long of a drive and nobody knows the software better than the guys who created it lol

For 10K, you want to beat a Lambo? Good luck trying to keep up with it on a straight line with 10K, much less turns. You might be able to squeeze in the parts and labor cost, but you're SOL when your engine blows or if anything goes wrong.

FWD and RWD are different. If you've never been to the track with your Z, how do you know it's easier? It's just conjecture, no? BTW, pics of your eclipse?

X pipe is NOT a muffler (unless you get the muffler/x-pipe from Magnaflow, for example), so it doesn't quiet down anything. If it does, then it is merely a secondary gain from that exhaust layout with that particular x pipe. It can get rid of rasp (which is caused by the turbulence in the exhaust system), but there's no guarantee. It can also help you make more power, but again, you won't know until you try and compare before/after with a dyno back to back. It all depends on the location of the merge, the size of the collector, etc. Most people do it to get rid of the rasp, with which the x-pipe seems to help (via scavenging effect).

Researching your topics of interest ftmfw.

Congrats on finishing the semester. I'm technically done, but I still have a 12 page paper to write.

Yeah, my Z's been my daily ever since I got it. I gutted it multiple times for various reasons. When I took those pictures, I had gutted my car to see how much the weight reduction would help at the drag strip. I never weighed my Z with all that weight off the car, though.

I definitely don't wanna show up alone again.

BTW, have you guys seen this? A friend of mine sent me this couple of days ago.

Think a MS is worth getting Jason? My school offers a 5 year plan, where you take some grad classes starting senior year. I was planning on just the BS though.

Many universities are doing this now....its a tactic to keep you paying school fees for a few more years..........but yes you do get a masters out of it sooner...or so that's the idea...

Its hard/nearly impossible for me or anyone really to answer that question, other than yourself - to say outright that a masters is or isn't worth obtaining...........

ex:
For me and my career, I know that this masters will actually help me in obtaining an advanced placement position within my field of work.

For some people, having a masters doesn't do anything for them....its more self gratifying vs career defining....

I know ill make more bank one day with this piece of paper.......so im all over it as of now.....

lol...more money for car parts................

Well my young eager and inexperienced colleagues....the world today works in a very different way than it did 30-40 yrs ago. It used to be where a good college degree meant something & got you results ( money, job, title, etc..).
In todays world with so many multi/cross trained jobs and the internet....you really just need to know somebody in the field to get your start.
Like the good old sayin' goes.... " It's not what you know, but rather who you know ! "

So I say:
Ahhhh Bachelors...Smachelors !!! BA ??....BS ?? .... BFD !!!

Although I do have my BA, I have always thought of going back to school and getting my Master's to teach...however the photography industry has changed leaps & bounds since I began working in it.

Semi-kidding all aside.....going for a master's will definitely help your career....depending on what field your in. For Teaching or Business absolutely ! But in my field ( creative/ advertising / photography ) it really doesn't do crap for you.

Jason is right....I would do it just for myself and not worry if it was going to get me a better job or more money.....because that will follow if your heart is in it.
_

And just for fun, here are some of Bill Gates most used quotes:

“Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.”

“Life is not fair; get used to it.”

“Television is not real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.”

“Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.”

“Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.”

“If I’d had some set idea of a finish line, don’t you think I would have crossed it years ago?”

“It is fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.”

“We are not even close to finishing the basic dream of what the PC can be.”

“If you can’t make it good, at least make it look good.”
