I edited my previous 2 posts, but I guess you caught me before the ninja edit.

Either way, the smell isn't bad enough to warrant such suspicion from a cop. By the time they're passing your tail pipes, your car should already be off and lingering fumes will have dispersed. Like I said, no cops have ever said anything to me. Emissions aren't too strict in TX, so you needn't worry.





BTW, a cop drove on the shoulder on the right to let me pass him on a 4 lane highway (121) today when all other lanes were open and I wasn't even speeding in the right-most lane when I was following him. I think the trooper was just watching me, but that's a weird way to let someone pass you.

alright guys thanks for putting me at ease. Anyone know of a shop that will install the X02 for a great deal? My friend wants to do it but it will be his first exhaust install and I heard the fitment isn't always 100% with this exhaust. So my GF keeps telling me to take it to a shop.

Insight?

Lewisville/carrolton/plano area.

I was told it needed to be done professionally because megan test pipes hardly ever fit up right and it takes tools and equipment to do. Also you can serious injure your headers if not done properly.

I've never killed the ignition when coasting, would just putting it neutral do the same as far as passing?

No, by killing the ignition the engine isn't burning fuel as a result no new exhaust gasses. In neutral the engine is burning fuel and creating exhaust gasses. As far as passing it depends on a number of factors. I'm pretty sure you'd be fine and besides after those test pipes you will be running lean unless you get a tune.

right on bro...I so all my installs myself and so does J and Im in carrollton but if you insist.. I dont know of any shops myself.. but Im sure some peops will chime in with some insite on it..

Just an idea holmes..

I'll still gain HP even with a SEL right? My eclipse hindered fuel lights with SEL's on

I put on my own Test Pipes without a problem....Just needed the right tool....an Impact wrench is key for the tight space up near the bolts.

Also, can't you just put the Non-foulers in for the check engine light ?

I was told that there is a way for it to pass inspection with the test pip[es on also.

Canuck there's an exhaust shop in Wylie off of 78 called rich's performance muffler that will do it for you most likely. The issue with the test pipes is that smthe shop is removing an emissions control device and from my understanding that is illegal. Honestly I would just take it to Jake. He can take care of that install for you at a hella good price and I promise you it will be done right.

Also, why would you buy a product that you know has inferior fitment that may cause damage to your vehicle. Seems worth it to me to spend just a little more for ease of install and piece of mind. As far as police actually inspecting your exhaust; you have resonated test pipes so just say they're high flow cats and be on your way.

Ya its fixed....just had to do some custom chopping and a visit to vatozone and I was good to go.. I put that hoe to to work!
