there are some DIY diff installs that should give you a general idea of what all it involves... If you were local man, Id help out, Im surprised no one has responded. Get the diff.. its a must, you'll have fun..

yeah i want to carb lsd, i heard the quaife is good but i have the vlsd and i think there is some extra steps in swapping that out, but i'd be happy getting the carb lsd. i'll check into the DIY. did you go from an open diff to the Quaife? did you get yours installed in dfw? i have family up there i might make a trip of it if i need to.

If in need of another pumpkin, vLSD or Open Diff, PM me
It will greatly decrease your downtime, and will enable you to take your time on the internals install.

Yes I went from an open diff to the Quaife, and installed it on my own with some help, and you will need it.

The Carbonetic LSD was just as simple as the quaife

Very COOL!

Nothing beats taking your time and get it done right vs being in a hurry.

just an update i broke down and paid to get them put in, i went through the recomended brake in and man i love these gears, my best performance mod hands down. i feel it pull much harder all through the gears, and its real strong on the highway, when i cruising on the highway in 6th it almost feels like im in 5th, when i first got them on i kept checking to make sure i was in 6th. on the highway im still getting around 25-27mpg, i used to get 26-28mpg. i really dont understand why the Z didnt come with this stock or at least the 3.7 gears. well my next step is an uprev tune (christmas) for all my bolt ons and then headers(tax time)(re-tune). then maybe cams if i can convince the wife

UpRev will be worth it but if you could hold out longer, I would do the headers first and then the tune. You would save some money that way. I waited til I finished my bolt-ons on my G and then went to Uprev. Could not be any happier with it. I got pretty good gains but I was more happy with fixing my A/F ratio (was running crazy lean).

If they don't charge you for the retune, then for sure get it but I hadn't heard about free retunes .

dyno retune is cheap enough that you don't want to screw up your engine running a stupid A/F ratio and probably pinging.
