Default Lewisville Tx- North of Dallas- Input please

So I got some mixed news today- I will be taking on a different role with my company. It would require me going back to jax,fl (I just moved back from there) or go to Lewisville,TX. So any input on this town. Parts to avoid, whats the lifesyle, night life. weekend things to do etc.

Ive already done jax for a bit over a year and not really interested in going back.

You can't go too wrong living north of Dallas. Stay away from south of Dallas. There are several members on here that live in Lewisville and around that area, so they could be more specific with what is around there. Member JasonZ-Ya actually moved here from SA. I'm old (comparitively speaking) with kids so I can't fill you in on nightlife, etc., but I'm sure there is more to do around DFW than in Jax. There are good communities north of the airport, along I35, along the Dallas North Tollway, and hwy 75 (Central Expwy). Hope this helps a little. Good luck.

Lewisville would probably be a pretty good place to live. I know there are a handful of members from up near there.

its not a bad place at all - its a growing city that is actually really close to a lot of things.

you are near major roads so if you need to go anywhere its not that far and besides the housing here is prob 100x cheaper than Florida is - besides we dont have hurricanes, just tornados and 80mph stright line winds lol jk

Its nice

sup, ya i moved to the DFW area from San Antonio as well, a bit over a year ago with my wife....

we lived in grapevine for a year, but the part of grapevine that bordered super close to Lewisville......my wife and I went to Lewisville for everything........malls, groceries, etc.....right off round groove road......we lived at Verde Riverwalk Apartments, grapevine, TX near the grapevine mills mall, and its really easy to get to Lewisville from there.
here:http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.265045&z=12

We looked at houses in Lewisville, but didn't find the layout, ( long flat driveway big yard, garage in the back) that we were looking for an ended up moving more south...but Lewisville is nice and has growth and growth potential...

Traffic on 35 is horrible, but if your company is there than you are golden..

on the East side of 35 is a dump site, so don't live close to that......kinda smelly...

we normally have a lot of meets in grapevine, near the grapevine mills mall, a few have been at the mall parking lot and some at hooters and red robin......we have cruises that usually start from there too..

oh, the transition from SA to DFW isnt that bad.........texas is still texas.....

* Mexican food sucks here...(in comparison to SA)_......yeah thats right i said it........
but i have found some decent places.....if you like pm me....

* oh, and DFW sucks for buying alcohol........probably about the biggest let down i have with moving from SA..........dry county and all, i hate that about this city, so be prepared to drive to go to the nearest liquor store....lucky for you there are a few places not too far.......its not like SA where there are liquor stores at every part of the city..

Any other specifics, you can pm me as i wouldn't mind helping another San Antonian...

Lived there for about two years. Love the area. I35 creates a vacuum (sucks). my 3 cents.
