Default So i'm getting made fun of by my friends...

because heres the deal. So i have the vortech kit in my car, and i make roughly 340-350 to the wheel. I have the Topspeed HKS-style exhaust on my car, which I love the way it looks, but i really wanna quiet the car down. The exhaust i could deal with when the car was stock, but now with the sound of the SC and the exhaust, i'm having a tough time dealing with it.

I love the sound of the exhaust, and i think it looks great, but I'm putting my stock exhaust back on till i figure out which one to get, which will, honestly, be in a few months. I'm in no rush.. so my friends are calling me pussies, but really, is the HP difference even significant enough to make the noise worthy? If i go down to 330 whp, will it really matter? I guess maybe to some it will, but not me.

I'm just looking for opinions. and thoughts...

Your friends are idiots. It's your car and if you want it quieter, then go for it. There's nothing wrong with wanting to preserve your hearing and sanity. Tell them to drive their Civics the other way if they don't like it.

Screw what your friends say. However, toning down the cop magnet exhaust isn't a bad idea!

I don't see why they should give you crap about wanting less sound, like all the above said, screw them. It's your car, your taste, and your decision if you want less sound.

Not everyone like the bee in a beer can civic exhaust that (atleast I) see everywhere (assuming that your exhaust sounds something like that)

I still crack a grin at the loud exhaust civics and (OMG cavaliers) buzzing around the DFW area. It cracks me up to see something that makes all that noise and still doesn't move. Sleeper style FTMFW.

I have the Apexi N1 exhaust and I like the noise levels on mine. Its quite when just cruising, and idle. You can hear it come alive when you really get on it though. I don't like real loud exhuast either.

they sell silencers to go with that style of exhaust. So you can keep the same exhaust and make it quiteter.... Search on Ebay for "X02 silencer" or something similar, they are all the same and should fit perfectly.

no i think its this part. It goes inside your exhaust tip. Just measure the size and pick the appropriate one. I've seen pictures of people with that silencer in their exhaust, you dont modify anything else, just bolt it to the tip and good to go.

I don't think its worth going back to the restricted stock exhaust. Do you have test pipes?

Just get the silencer and call it a day.

I'm running test pipes and a single HKS exhaust. The silencer makes a huge difference.
Yeah it's still loud, not as loud as without it though. The difference is noticeable.

Power difference? Meh, not enough for me to care on a daily basis (if I take it to the track i'll take it off).
