Houston: Good shop for basic things that I'm too lazy/incompetent to do?
Hi, I joke, sort of. I read through some of the "shops" topic but I'm not looking for a tuning place, just a trustworthy service place that knows their way around our cars. (And not the dealer!)
I live right by Allen Parkway, at Dallas and Dunlavy. I'm looking for a good reputable place anywhere where I can do things like transmission fluid change or brakes. I'm not good at this stuff and I live in an apartment so me doing it isn't really an option. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I asked a similar question awhile back but for the DFW area and at first I rolled my eyes when people were saying "just do it yourself!"... I ended up paying some fellow members for their time and garage use to have them show me how to do it. I live in a pretty white collar world and never had any skills working on cars so it was pretty rewarding doing some basic stuff myself. I noticed there was some interest on the meet up thread to have a "houston tech day", I would recommend going to that and knocking out some of the work you need done on your car.
Find a nice day, and do it yourself. You can buy a complete DIY Caliper Paint Kit from autozone for under 20 bucks...
Did acouple, you dont even have to remove the calipers, and it comes with everything... I had left over paint.

Kev and ss7, Go to Street Dreams and ask for Derek, he will take care of you. Low pricing, good work, and they mostly deal with/specialize in 350z's. Trust me bro, its worth the drive.
Derek: 713-875-1379, tell him Mike sent u.
