Aww, man...I am sorry to hear that

That was crazy weather...I've lived all over the Gulf Coast and never seen anywhere flood as badly or as quickly as Houston. WTF is up with this place?

You didn't do something silly like try to drive in it did you?!
Those roads downtown conceal small lakes in weather like that...

Well, you guys live in the armpit of Texas. Houston is a pile of poop and easily the worst place we have to offer. I lived there for 6 months and it was 6 months too long. I hate that place. Just IMO.

Hey, easy on the armpit stuff, this city may flood, but I have been to Dallas, believe me, I am VERY HAPPY living here in H-TOWN. I have traveled the country for 2 years and have been to about 50 different cities, I STILL love h-TOWN, and would not want to live anywhere else.

BTW - 350zhei - can I show them the pic....???

maaan, i woke up that monday, watched the news and immediately decided Faith (my Z) was staying in the garage that day. spent the day watching everyone else use their cars as boats. and playing online scrabble. so i didn't see the answer to the question. were you driving through that crap in your Z?

Houston is nicknamed the Bayou City for a good reason. We have a few inches of soil on top of red clay. The ground gets easily saturated, so a few good inches of rain will cause reoccuring flooding in some areas. Know those areas well and dont go there when it rains hard.

Hey 350zhei, is the $14k for parts and labor? Are they just swaping in a new motor or rebuilding the old one? You might want to use this opportunity to put in some after market internals!

I was at Westheimer and Walnut Bend when it happened. I went to swap cars with my girlfriend, cause she didn't want to drive the Z out of town. I parked my S4 a couple of spots next to her. About 20 minutes later, some people were saying something about a Honda Accord. I got up and saw that both cars had water half-way up the tires. I ran out and got my S4 out of the water. When I got in, I managed to get water in when I closed the door. The 350z, however was in deeper water. I backed out, then decided to push it out, but it died just as I was turning it off. Water had gotten into the intake.

She's looking at getting a new long block. I wish...I mentioned Nismo parts, and the service guy laughed. We took the car to the dealership. Does anyone have any suggestions where else we could of taken her? My girlfriend is pretty devistated right now that's the Z is out of comission.
