Briefly read through the thread and looks like your cars gunna be super sick Robert! I was in the sane spot with my z. I was contemplating getting the red nismo with 17k miles at Texas direct auto but couldn't do it. so now I'll be ditching the 158k motor and buying a long block real soon. But not going extreme. Not a ballah like this guy!! Lol maybe one day when I pass through Houston for the weekend we can meet up? Where's this "hotspot" anyways?!

Well received another email stating the below;

Especially on a high hp car that might be prone to cutting tire sidewalls under acceleration. I'd rather just have wheels that fit properly, no fender mods.

Let me know which you decide. Thanks

Please check with Robert to see if he was planning on any fender modification or cambering as it will have to be done. If not then we will have to re-evaluate the fitments so we can meet the desired look but still function.

Let me know as soon as possible so we can make corrections.
I went ahead and told them to go with the +20 front & +25 rear. My fenders are already rolled and I'm not slamming my car with my coil overs. Damn I think this could've gone a lot smoother.

Thanks! It's hard to sell something that's paid off and modded so much. Hotspot???

The HRE guy and the vendors must be noobs. I'd have gone with more knowledgeable people (doesn't matter what they claim if they don't know the basic fitment on our cars).

When was the last time you've heard of anybody rubbing with +20 offset on a 9.5" wheel in the front at any height? Same goes for the rear fitment. @ going with conservative offset because they think you don't want to roll your rear quarter panel (because it's so hard to do) or have to dial in camber (which the car needs for proper handling). Also, rolling your fender won't cut your sidewall, cutting your rear fender will (and only if it rubs) and power has nothing to do with it.

They're making it sound like your wheels are going to be hellaflush, require fender pulling/cutting (not rolling), and that you'll need -10º camber.

I think it's my vendor that just doesn't want to be liable for incorrect fitment. Plus I don't think he's dealt with customers that have knowledge on this subject. I knew what I wanted. I told him originally a +22 & +25. They, HRE & the vendor, came back with the +32/+34 and I questioned it. Don't think this has happened to him before. He has been polite the whole time and offering at a great price. All I know is that I want what I want and for the amount paid I would figured they would make sure of this.

I can understand the CYA, but at least do some research before making recommendations is all I'm saying. So, who's the vendor?

"CYA?" It's a local vendor.

CYA = cover your ***

I was just saying that it's understandable that the vendor is just being careful (I would too, especially nowadays).

What do you all think about me swapping my Seibon '03-'06 TS hood for an '07-'08? Think I like it with the hump. Here are some pics.

I like it but it may be a lil to aggressive for your car? But I don't think it'd look bad though.

I think the OEM 07+ hood will look good. I'm not really a big fan of CF, though, so I might be biased.

BTW, whose black Z is that? It's almost like Kal-El's except without the Enkei wheels and the yellow calipers.

Well talked to PowerFab today. Kinda just getting a weekly status update and not much has changed. Engine is still at G&G, HalTech is still saying sometime in March, no update on the Teins and hopefully will have a word back on the intercooler and piping this week.

On a personal note... Iraq is still not issuing entry Visas. So until they start I can't leave without quitting my job. Have 40 days till my R&R so wife & I are hopping for some good news soon. But I did get promoted this month and pay day is this Friday. And payday is looking good with the pay increase.

at +22 keeping the stock camber arms and trying to put some serious meat in the front (let say a 275 or so) you're not going to rub... you're going to cut the tire in the half... I was borderline for rubbing with my 275 at +18 offset after adding about 2 degrees of negative camber (that gives you about 2/3" of extra clearance.).

with stretched street 245s (that are seriously smaller than r-comps) I agree... no problem at all.

I'm confused on what you're trying to say Matteo. Are you referring to the front or rear offsets? I currently have a +19 with 255/35 and I'm no where close to the fender. And the rears are a +34 with 285/35 with more than enough space. I did a lot of research before setting on the +20 & +25.

There are plenty of people that have never had any issues with +12 - +22 offset in the front, mild drops, and around -2º camber (me included). I'm guessing your tires run wide, if anything.

BTW, most people on the forums have offset between +12 and +22 in the front, especially the Volk guys, and none of them ever complain about rubbing.

I run +15 and have stock camber on a mild drop and I don't have any problems...
