Anyone going out to the Houston Motorsports Park tonight. Not HRP in baytown the new track. I will be there with some friends from college station. It is an 1/8th mile track brand new and tonight is just for imports. Gates open at 5. See you there.

 

I will say this, I had a badass time there. The facility is brandspankin new and really nice looking. Tech was super easy to pass and the race gas there is cheap. 103 unleaded for 4.99 a gallon and they pump it for you. On to the track prep, I as well as everyone there hooked very good for it being the first time it's ever been used. Some civic hooked so good he broke his axles if that tells you anything. The staging lanes both have indentions in the ground filled with a little water for burnouts and the staging box is plenty big. The track is perfectly flat and the time towers are easy to read because they are so huge. It's got a 1/4 mile shutdown area and concrete paved return road so it's not hella bumpy and no pot holes to dodge on the return trip. We probably got 15 runs in and we could have made 3-4 times that if we would have felt like beating on our cars. The best part of the whole night was the owner of the track was cool enough to come out and personally meet all of us and in appreciation of showing up he gave us all free passes to come back next week and even gave us our tech cards back so we wouldnt have to take the time to tech in next week. The track is about 20 yards from their paved oval banked track and the owner said when more people start to show up he will open up the circle track and let everyone park their cars on the track and have kinda like a car show and a party just so everyone will have something to do if you dont feel like racing. Guys seriously, if you are bored you couldn't find a better place or a nicer atmosphere to go race at. So lets try and get a bigger crowd out next thursday and have some more fun.

 

oh and i ran 8.9 at 80 with a 2.1 60ft.

 

Is there a way to find out what the 1/4mile would be with the result of 1/8 mile?

 

I've been hearing abou this new track.

I've got my new 4:11 posi-rearend in, which should be GREAT for a 1/8 mile track !

Z car dave, where did you get gears?

also, a 8.9 will be real close to 13.8-13.9 in the 1/4.
