What do you need one for ? I've found it's rarely warranted to get a lawyer , you can often get anything that they can. Unless there's an accident or a DUI/DWI etc, just go in on your own.

Toy - Sorry for your loss, this is the first I've heard about it. I'm glad to see you are okay. Is it repairable?

well i got a ticket for "failure to control speed to avoid collision"

yes i was speeding but so were other people.. i switched lanes and some guy didnt want me there .. he saw i was coming over and sped up.. i swerved to avoid hitting him and lost it..right into a wall.. does this ticket stand a chance to get dropped? and if so how?..

or can i just go on probation? or take defensive driving>?

Mallory has a pretty good reputation. Whomever you decide on, you need to go and have an office visit first. Try a couple of attorneys at least and then pick the one who seems most likely to actually fight it out for you.

Most lawyers will give you a free 15min consultation before you have to hire them. Take a Friday and visit several in your area.

Well, the good part is that if you request a court date you will meet with the prosecutors. They can tell you what the fines etc are, and they will often make suggestions to you (off the record of course). I'd go for the pre-trial and see your options and decide from there.

Best of luck.
