Default 1st dyno run. I'm a little disappointed

First of all, it was on a Mustang dyno, and the guy running it said it was hot, But I don't know. Here's the sheet

that calibration is way off! And was that a third gear pull? You should be dynoing in 4th gear at least...

For a moment, I thought I was crazy. Yes it was in third. I guess I gotta find a better shop. It was dyno days where I got it done, so it was free. I was expecting atleast 230whp

Its calibration is off. You dont really have many mods either but i woudl expect 250 on dynojet and 230ish on dyno dynamics. I like dd the best.

woudlnt he make more trq and HP if dynod in 3rd gear. Did your dyno tuner know the gear ratio in 3rd gear?

The tuner actually had power enterprise tt Z, but he just sold it. The driver was his nephew, so I'm guessing he knew it.

Dyno in 5th and leave out correction factor. What does the 290BHP on the curve refer to? Surely 211WHP does not represent 290BHP?

It was on a Mustang dyno !!!!! You can run it in any gear and the whp will be very close . Ive ran my AT5 in third and forth and came up with the same whp . The operator has been in buisness for 25 years and is the one that told me that any gear will show the same whp on this dyno . I see he had 3625lb's for the Wt. this should be correct with the driver in the seat

Where is the torque curve and AFR curve? Without at least AFR how will you know if you need tuning?

211whp with STD correction I am assuming? Without getting into a dyno debate, a properly setup Mustang dyno will read lower than even a Dyno Dynamics dyno. A car like yours would probably dyno about 215-220whp on our dyno..and about 235-245whp on a DynoJet so these numbers dont look all too bad.

I think a lot of shops are getting away from this because the Z is doing something like 120-130 mph in 5th gear at the top of the gear...

Well, I thank all of you for your input. Hopefully I'll have some ideas for the spring. I was gonna go HFC, plenum spacer, Lightweight flywheel, clutch, and possibly pullies. Any other ideas or mods any of you recommend would be greatly appreciated. My plan is to eventually go FI, after it's paid off of course. That will be some time from now, but looking to get closer to 300whp before I go FI.

The proper gear tp dyno a car is in which ever gear gives you 1:1 ratio...which on our cars (manny tranny) would be 5th gear. 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gears multiply the engines torque/hp and will not give true readings. I guarantee if you dyno the car in 1st gear, your numbers will be higher than if you do it in 5th gear. Can you say "Torque Multiplier".

I know someone on this board has the calculations for gearing...I have them at home, but I am at work today.
