MRC Does another Great Tune
I made an appointment two weeks ago to have my UTEC installed. I wanted to bring all of the NA mods I slapped on the car together. I arrived at MRC on Saturday and presented my offering of Dunkin Donu ts to Julian, he nodded and I backed away in fear (
from watching him demolish the donuts
) and he started the procedure.
I dont know alot about tuning (well nothing really) but I was surprised when Julian actually took the time to explain all the steps to me, what each step was for and why. It was a relief to have someone who really builds confidence like Julian working on my car.
I cant find my dyno sheets, but I doubt anyone will demand one for the first Dyno (Motordyne 5/16, Cat Back Exhaust, JWT Popcharger and 5 Qts of Royal Purple) The Z pulled a 251HP before Utec and Tune
We took a road test and modified some settings, Julian fixed some settings and tuned it up to 260HP After Utec and Tune.
While I wasn't looking for any horsepower gains, I wanted more power to be readily available throughout the powerband and thats exactly what I got. I can now identify what needs to be replaced (catback exhaust) before I go FI.
Even if you live a full state away from New Jersey like myself, you cannot go wrong with taking your car to MRC.
Support your local shops people!! Here are some camera phone pics from Saturday.
Some shots on the dyno

Another shot on the dyno

Utec and stock ECU

UTEC!!

Now that I have some first hand experience with MRC, I can definately say I would have no hesitation about having them do anything to my car.
If your in the tri-state area and your looking for a tuner, look no further
