I have been having trouble with my throttle for the last month or more. I got the dealer to warranty a new throttle body for me as they were sure that was the problem. well, I am still have the same trouble with it. I would like to flash the TXS throttlecontrol.mot file back onto the UTEC to see if that does the trick. anyways, my old laptop that had a serial port on its docking station....and I can't find the docking station. I have a USB-serial adapter, but my adapter doesn't like uploading anything to the UTEC. I have to use a pure serial connection to get it to function.
My question is can you install the USB drivers that come with the UTEC software and then connect the laptop directly to the USB port on the UTEC for flashing? will it work? also, can you flash just the throttle file, or do I need to reflash the 2.8D version software ,too?
thanks for any input,
Andrew

I do have a PDA one. It is a dynex usb-pda adapter. who makes the "right" one.

According to the software/hardware manual the USB port is fully functional once you load the USB drivers from TurboXS's website into your computer. We are still waiting for our UTEC from the US distributor so I can't speak from experience, but this is exactly how we intend to communicate with the unit once it is in the car. Let us know if it works

The USB port works for normal communication. I have just not verified that it works for flashing the UTEC with new software.
BTW, if you ever planning on using the Tuner wideband, you better find a laptop with a serial port or get a good usb-serial adapter becasue that is the only way to communicate with the TUner/UTEC combo!
