Default Knock & timing retard at high RPM (Vortech)

So I went to get a few runs today after fixing my belt slip issue. It looks as though my UTEC is sensing a bit of knock after 5.5k rpm and pulling timing which kills power. I'm not sure if it was just a bad batch of gas, but I only hit like 345whp. My tuner said supercharged cars tend to sense false knock or something. Anyone have input on this? He should be emailing me the graphs soon, so I'll post those up.

It could be false knock Ie. valve train noise, etc... But I personally wouldn't chance that assumption. Did your ecu also pull timing in your logs? In my book, anything over a 4~5 knock count is real knock.

I am not sure about the ECU pulling timing, I will check w/ my tuner.

these aren't DSMs - you can take the false knock theory and toss it out the window

common issues could be gas, plug gap, plug condition, and exhaust leaks

I've never touched the knock sensitivity on my utec fwiw...see no reason to. Check your logs as Erin suggested and see if the car is pulling timing or not, and if so, what your knock counts are

Exhaust leaks could cause it? hmm...i just installed my high flow cats, so I'll double check everything. I'll also change the plugs too.

A/F is ok, the key thing is the timing. At 7-8 psi and 5.5k+ rpm then your timing should not go any higher than 17 on stock block and 93 octane. For what its worth, I do get some slight knock at 11.7 A/F especially on a hot days and that is why I like my A/F to be 11.1-11.5 for extra safety.
