Default UTEC Turbo Tuning Questions

I have searched sorry if this is something that has been covered before.

I have a used turbonetics kit I just installed. The UTEC and kit I got used and was tuned by AAM for the setup that I got which is TN Kit, Walboro Pump, AAM Basic Fuel Return Kit and 440CC injectors.

The only difference between my setup and the car before was that he had the TN reflash.
So here are the questions...

1. If I just use the MAP that he had on the UTEC will it make a difference since my ECU is stock and his was reflashed by TN?

2 .Can I use the MAP they have on the TXS site for the TN kit and just change injector size (or maybe its already setup for 440cc)? I have heard that using that MAP is a bad idea

3. How hard is it to tune myself somewhat safely? I have wideband 02 and EGT gauges.

I have a wideband o2 and EGT gauges. I am going to take it to Jeremy from Performance Factory once he gets to Charlotte but he wont be here til early Dec. It hard to wait 2 weeks to get into boost.

do a pull and check knock and AFR.

if the af is lower than or equal to 11.5 past 4k and there's no knock, you are fine.

You can install the turbonetics map on the turbo xs site. But I would trailer it or just stay out of boost till you get it on a dyno. I know it sucks to wait but better safe than sorry...

if i'm reading this right, the previous car had all the same as yours, plus a turbonetics (tn) reflash?

if that's the case, the utec tune on txs's site is a perfect match for your car (it's not for a reflashed ecu). the last kit we tuned had 440 injectors so you should be all set.

BUT - don't proceed unless you're familiar with how to operate the somewhat cryptic utec software. working in a dos screen is not everyone's forte.

i also have to say that everyone we tune is different, so while you should be good to drive, drive to a dyno.
