question about my ECU
i drive a 2003 nissan 350z 5AT... so my redline should be 6600rpm i believe. I have a few mods done to the car and havent had the time to get it tuned (raise the rev limiter). My car shifts at 7k in manual mode. Is there any reason for this? does this mean my car was tuned prior to me buying the car? another thing i found is that my cruise control doesnt work. the lights go on but it has no effect on the speed of the car. I read on a website that this can occur when your ECU is reflashed as well as when your FD gears are altered. Any info will be appreciated. thank you

yeah in D it shifts before 6500 in every gear. in M i can go to 7k before the fuel cut. its fcukin weird. i didnt notice it at first but after i started modding the car i realized that i could pass the stock redline in every gear

since the M mode gives you a lil more leeway of control you can go past the 6600 on a sift b4 the comp starts to take over for you.
just be weary that the vehicles full power is just b4 red line. so that should be your shift point.

Shift points are different than redline and are by design set earlier in the rpm band to prevent hitting the limiter during the shift. Redline on the DE I think is 6700 rpms. My tachometer reads closer to 7k when it's really 6700 rpms. I don't know if that's on purpose or not... Verified on dyno, with Osiris and with Haltech - all of which read a little lower in the upper rpms compared to the stock tachometer display on the dash. For those of you that think you can go past the stock rev limit...
