Wow...2nd day using osiris and it crashed my ECU. :(
Yesterday I installed osiris and started playing with it. I uploaded a map that the previous owner had and it worked fine except that at WOT the transmission would go nuts ( it would rev limit at 4K sometimes and the car would hunt for gears all the time ). So today I try it again to see if I can fix it and when I was uploading, osiris simply stopped working. It just stayed there as if the upload was complete but it never said it was complete. After leaving it alone for about 10 minutes I decided there was nothing I could do so I just shut everything off.
To my surprise, I can't get the ECU to respond anymore. I even unplugged the battery for 15 minutes and it still turns the fans on and Osiris can't detect it.
Now I'm left without a car till I can find a solution for this. I can drive my wife around and use her car but it's a pain, especially for something this stupid.
Anyways, anyone have any ideas on what I can do? Is uprev the only people that can reset my ecu or can my local dealer do it as well?

Sounds like an incompleted flash. Osiris checks for solid voltage at the start of the process but if the battery voltage falls before the process is complete, I believe this can happen. I have always hooked my car up to a 75 amp charger before attempting to flash it for fear of interruption of the process (or used jumper cables to another running car). UpRev can probably recover the ECU but I think it may need to be mailed to them - I'd give them a call Monday am. Your battery may be drained at this point causing the ECU to not operate correctly. If you use jumper cables and get the voltage up, Osiris may be able to detect the ECU...

Kinda makes me wonder if going to a utec would be a better idea as stuff like this won't happen with a utec.

hmm so your using a map that the old owner have?? why you take off the tune? Also y were you playing with the settings?? Unless you know what your doing? if your not reving past 4k sounds like a limp mode or something. Also the software has a recovery mode fyi. i would honestly try to flash to stock nissan tune and go from there.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, doesn't the Osiris flash give you several maps, including a valet map, which won't let you go past a certain speed or rpm? Or am I confusing them with UpRev for the HR engines. If so, maybe there was nothing wrong in the first place, you might've been on the valet map.

If I was on my Valet map without knowing, I would think something was wrong, too. Try changing to another map and see what happens.

love people who think they can do it all and end up in these situations...
possibly another flaw in the uprev software?, later there will be another cobb accessport fail thread too im sure

I don't care about the valet mode or whatever....the car won't run. I can't flash it anymore because the ECU crashed. Right now my priority is getting my car to actually RUN.
Anyways...looks like I'm going to have to ship my ECU to Uprev to get it fixed.

Well you said it can turn on right? if so then connect the computer up and see if it recognizes then. If not i would just leave the the battery unhooked for about 1 hour to get a good full reset and go from there. O, jw what changes did you make? If you could tell us maybe we can fix it?

This happened to me the first time Uprev tried to tune my car. I had to ship the ECU to them to fix the problem. I'd call uprev now and figure out next steps.
If this is the same issue, Uprev has some issues tuning certain HR ECU's. Apparently they still haven't ironed it all out yet.

I already talked to Jared at Uprev and shipped out the ECU. I never knew these ECU's were so complicated in the sense that there are hundreds of combinations and thus why I can't use someone else's file ( Which is what I did...doh ). I have tuned various GM ecu's and they are peanuts in comparison....oh well.
Now I just have to wait. Thanks guys, I was hoping there was a local way of doing it but I guess not.

I'm not sure why there are so many variations of the ECU. You would think the software might change year to year, but the hardware (memory map etc) would stay pretty much the same. I'm surprised the software let a flash from one version onto another version. Definitely something to be careful of.

i thought when someone sold uprev to another they had to first reflash back to stock or something like that, something to do with re-liscensing the software? How would you have gotten it with a tune on it still, if that is what you are saying?
