Is a tune worth it...
ok im new to the nissan game i have a 03 enthusiast aem cold air and JIC Single exit exhaust. Im thinking about getting a tune or a reflash, is it worth it? and what is the difference between a tune and a reflash? and what are UpRev/Osiris i keep reading about on here i cant find a thread that says exactly what they are. Are they a piggy back system that i have to buy? or just a type of tune i can get at a shop. Sorry for not knowing much guys thanks in advance for all the help and advice.
OP, I sent you a PM. A UpRev tune is DEF. worth it regardless of mods. People with bone stock Z/G's come in all the time to get an UpRev tune, still make some extra power and unlock 100% throttle response. I personally have my Z UpRev'd and the only mods I have are JWT PopCharger, Tenabe Medallion CBE, Berk test pipes, Competition Stg 2 Clutch & Flywheel. From just the tune, I made an extra 12whp and 10ft/lb tq. Runs a lot smoother and have instant throttle response. So answering from a customer stand point, yes it is worth it. Plus once you own the UpRev license, if you sell your car and go into a different Nissan or Infiniti, you can transfer the license to the new cars ECU and UpRev that car and save yourself the $200 license fee.

EDIT: here, take a look at this thread too: https://my350z.com/forum/tuning/5254...-bolt-ons.html
a review from someone who is out of state with no relations to my shop, giving his feedback on his UpRev tune. Also note the license was $300 plus about $550 for the tune. Our whole package (license, tune, 5 selectable maps) is only $600!!!
There is a reason why we are the #1 ProTuner for them and why we do 15+ UpRev's each month.

LOL, that video looks exactly like the interior of mine. Same radio, same Viper alarm. Made me do a double take until I noticed that one had no navigation.
OP, it's DEFINITELY worth it. It just opens up the breathing and throttle response on the Z and makes it a lot more fun to drive, although I did wait until most all of my planned bolt on's were on before the tune. I did pay more for mine since I had to buy the license, although I could have driven to Austin to the Uprev shop and had it done for around $550.00. I just happened to have the cash and a known shop 10 minutes from my home that was suggested by some others in our Z group, so I went that way.
DO IT!

Sick video! Great looking Z...
Makes me want an NA Z to "build" and just enjoy the car on a simpler level. I truly miss the reliability and fun of my NA setup
FWIW-years ago before Osiris/Uprev, I did a mail in tune that I sent in with an A/F log. It came back PERFECT A/F at least, dont know about timing. I picked up 10whp and almost the same TQ. Transformed my car though, I went from trapping 104mph to 107mph and that's with a DE! Im sure a custom tuned Uprev is the t!ts...

Its never perfect, but you know how that goes with some peeps/shops...
It is running though, other than a quick spin around the block about 1 month ago, I havent seen it or driven it since December.

I agree with Anthony's post. We see probably 5 cars per week in here for Osiris tunes and I have yet to see anyone walk out the door that wasn't totally thrilled with the car afterwards. This same sentiment is from guys that bring in cars that are stock or near stock all the way up to forced induction big power makers.
Get it and you won't be disappointed.
