Default Now that Technosquare is not an option: next best?

Looking for opinions regarding the next best tuning option since Technosquare is no longer an option. My goals are very modest improvements in a N/A non-high Rev motor with a NISMO cat back exhaust, Stillen cold air intake, and future plenum spacer. Specifically I want the stock Rev limiter in my '03 raised 500-1000 rpm, leaner air-fuel ratio at higher rpms compaired with stock, and the ability to take advantage of aftermarket mods. I haven't modded my Z in many years, so I'd appreciate anyone up to date with the current tuning options to briefly summarize the pros and cons of what's available. Thanks in advance.

There are a bunch, just search around.

I would guess a UpRev with / Cipher Cable is what you are looking for.

These are far from the best but in that parallel to TS ECU flash that is what you would want for just bolt-ons.

UpRev Tuner although I'm currently having issues, the software looks great lots of features.

I would read up on reving your motor past stock rev limiter on a stock block. I'm not 100% sure but our engines don't handle it well stock and you don't make anymore power that high.

I'd suggest Uprev as well. Here's a thread with some info:

YOu really don't want to spin a DE past 7k if it is not a built/balanced motor.

I have the uprev tuner kit on my current car (to get rid of the CEL) and I used it on my last car with no worries.

Does anyone know if you already have a technosquare reflash from couple years ago,can I just go and buy one of the newer tuning options that are available today and have no issues cause of the reflash? If it needs to be put back to oem tune before i can use something else and ,since the reflash I have a few more performance upgrades that I think another tune is needed.sorry to go off topic but couldnt find anything on this with a search..thanks

Whats considered a good deal on the up rev?Ive got to get better knowledge on the up rev cause i have no clue...so if im looking for info,am i looking for osirus? Is osirus the comp that makes up rev?..is it something I can do or do you have to have a prof do it? Id like to have it tuned on a dyno so i can see whats going on,rather than just clicking on my aftermarket parts on a screen and hope its doing something..Ive looked on here for tuning shops in boston ma,area and the ones ive found dont advertise that they tune, just that they have a dyno...i spoke to someone from the northeast threads and was told of a place in new hampshire..kind of a hike for me..any suggestions...

There are two ways to do it.
1) Buy the Uprev OBD2-usb cable so you can reflash the ecu and record datalogs, then have a tuner email you tune updates based off those datalogs to dial it in, OR
2) go to a shop and get reflashed and dyno tuned on the spot.

Price is going to be $500 for the cable and do it yourself way, and you own the cable so you can always reflash back to stock and sell it used later on, use it on a different vehicle, or reflash updates as needed. Dyno tuning ranges from $600-800, and while you should get the most power all in one go you don't have the cable so you can't reflash back to stock later on, and are essentially at the mercy of the shop whenever you need something updated.

Whichever route you go you will be getting a professional tune. All the Z's since 04 came with factory wideband O2 sensors that we can monitor and record with Uprev's software, and after a couple tweaks you'll have a tune thats 95% as good as a dyno tune

Ive got an 03..so without the 04 02 sensors I have no way of monitoring any changes?buying and owning my own stuff needed sounds like the way to go,but Ive never done this before and if you think it takes a certain amount of tuning knowledge Im screwed...pretty much,do you think I can handle it on my own or is it really hard to actually use the software.. Has anyone heard of any horror stories from someone using this without experience and totally screwing up thier ride?Im sure you dont have to be a rocket scientist to use it,but if u have no clue,it may be bad...Im a little nervous cause last time i just sent out my ecu and just had to plug it in..I really have no clue if it hurt or helped me..the rev limit and other changes that you can acually see, were great but before dumping this amount of cash,id need to see gains..maybe buying my own stuff and bringing it to a good shop is the way to go...

The butt dyno Or if you can get in on a local dyno day or something you can do base pulls for around $50, if you have cruise control you can do a pull on the tuned map, then switch maps and do another pull and compare. I've actually tuned cars like this, just set up different maps then did a pull on each and picked the best one, then further refined it with the next session.

Its impossible to screw something up with Osiris standard since a certified protuner is making the maps for you, all you're doing is plugging in the cable and reflashing it. With the 03's there is a very small chance that the ecu will freeze up mid-flash (maybe 1/1,000) and you have to remove it and mail it to uprev, but its very rare. If this happens you'll be down for a couple days, but they will unlock it and second day air it back for free.

Lots of guys go this route as well. You get a dyno tune to maximize power but also have the cable so you can troubleshoot, check and clear codes, reflash updates without driving to the shop, as well as reflashing back to stock and using the same license on that 370 you pick up in a couple years

Can't speak for other guys but I offer a money back guarantee on my tuning. Shoot me a PM and we'll discuss

Default $500

How can you go that route for $500? Or is this the price if you already have a cipher cable? Thanks!
