Default Where to add ignition Timing

Where should ignition time be increased? Higher RPM? Lower? Where have you had the best results?

From what im told by more tune-savvy folks than I, you don't wanna mess with it too awful mich without a dyno. The basic idea as I unerstand it is that as you approach the detonation point, you begin to gain less power/tq from the advancement of your timing. An example is when I was tuning my greddy TT kit with a utec, we got the fuel map dialed in pretty well, and then added 2* of timing basically across the board. Gained through most of the rev range and 40whp peak. No knock detected. So we put another 2* to it and only gained 4whp peak and almost nothing through the rest of the rev range. We pulled those 2* back out for the safety of the engine since there was basically no gain.

Hopefully someone better than me will chime in soon. Good luck.
