Default 2003 UpRev Tuned Z

Hey guys, I had my 03 Z dyno tuned the other day. First time tuning the car and thought I would share the results. The torque numbers seem a little low compared to other dynos I've seen . Pulls were done in 4th gear instead of 5th if that makes a difference. Was reading up and to my knowledge 4th is sometimes better due to less strain on the engine and reduces heat soak. No baseline tune was done because the car was running really lean.

Do you think the torque is kind of low? Or is that the age / mileage of the motor showing?

Ya it was a dynapack. I was thinking the mileage wasn't so bad. It's at like 64, 65k miles, but I could be wrong. Hard to know since I've never had a dyno or baseline before. But good to know the curves are normal. The hp seems standard with other de tunes running the same type of mods

Wow, those are crazy numbers SoCal_VQ. Big difference aha.

you were on a hub dyno correct? I got 57k on my car idk if that plays much of a role. I know hub dynos have a history of reading "high" or maybe load based dynos just read inaccurately low.

yeah dynapacks are hub and usually high, i was on a mustang dyno which are known for being a little low. like i said, he has a good steady curve, in the end it is just a number

Yup, it was a dynapack hub dyno. I know hub dynos usually read a little higher. I wonder if upgrading to the cd009 tranny would eliminate some loss in power translation from bhp to whp. Anyways, it's hard to hit the higher numbers with early model de's aside from forced induction so I'm content with the performance. No other bolt ons would really be worth the time and money based on other threads and Z's. Just going to enjoy where it's at

Church's dyno is notorious for reading extremely high, take it for what you will.

Your numbers are good for a de, no odd dips. Congrats man
