Default Link G4+/Vipec ecu - which widebands ?

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me out with this.
I recently picked up a Vipec ECU for my n/a 04 350z, however I'm trying to see what cost effective options I have for the widebands.
I don't need gauge kit, granted it could be useful but I'm guessing I can set something up in the software to protect the car if it sees something wrong.
More just that I'm struggling to see what is the easiest, cost effective option to run with for now.

I keep seeing something about the Bosch LSU 4.9 sensors but I think I need a separate controller for that ? & looks pretty expensive once you factor in 2 sensors plus that box.

Cheers for any help !

Link Can lambda?
I'm using Innovate, but dual link can lambda with 4.9 sensors would be nice.

I think it's about £340, plus an additional O2 sensor.
So it's probably around £400ish, although not sure how you plug the 2nd sensor into it.
I was hoping for a cheaper solution to than that at the moment.

That's going to be the average cost I believe, just wait a bit if not possible now. I think my whole setup was $900 but the base dual kit was around $400. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure most aftermarket WB kits will use the Bosch 4.9 sensors.

Yeah so from what I understand (looking at the pdf for the CAN module), is that you need to buy a whole kit for each sensor !
Which is £680
It seems like you can run it on 1 but I guess that's pointless.

AEM X-Series In-Line Electronics Wideband UEGO Air/Fuel Controller (AEM 30-0310)
Seems like 2 of these would work from what I can see.

just use analog 0-5v input from a wideband controller. I use AEM UEGO and run two wires to the Link.

Let me know if you need further help.

CAN is the better way but analog is stupid simple and it's 'good enough' ... I'm far more worried about bad ignition timing than a slightly lean/rich AFR (key word is 'slightly')

Cheers for the help!
Do you run two of the ones I mentioned?

I used to run two for my twin turbo setup but since going single turbo I only use one for closed loop fuel control. I do have a second sensor installed and running but I deactivated it in the link...if something were to happen with the first sensor I could 'de-activate' it and activate the second but so far it's been fine.

The Zeitronix ZT-4 can handle 2 sensors from the one controller and has the 0-5v output

Oh nice find, thank you for that !

That's available over here for a similar price as the AEM inlines AEM 30-0310.
Well that gives me 2 options now at a reasonable price.
Seems like ZEITRONIX have a good reputation too.

I have the ZT-4 but I run the nDash instead of the gauge, zero complaints here. And they use the Bosch 4.9 sensors with their kit.

If you go the analog way you can look at spartans, they are cheap and good. Highly recommend them.

Haltech WB2. Close to half the price of 2 x Link lambdas and for a little while now it runs natively with Link ECUs (firmware update). Just needs a cable to wire it to the ECU.

Ah thank you so much for the info!
It's good timing, I was just about to put through a very expensive order with all of the link stuff.
So I'll have a little look tonight and see if it'll work with what I was going to do.

No problem. Link recommended I use one of these to connect the WB2 with my Link G4X https://dealers.linkecu.com/ADA_2. I don't know if it's exactly the same interface for the G4+, but I'm sure they'd have a solution for it. Or you could make your own connector.

Good luck!

Ah nice, yeah it's the same connections thankfully.
Did you have to do any splicing, or fitting new connectors ?
And I presume there wasn't anything different to do in the tuning software ?

This is what I was going to order:
Link ECU CAN Lambda x 2
Link ECU CAN Splitter Cable (CANTEE)
Link ECU CAN Extension Cable 2m (CANEXT)
Link ECU CAN Connection Cable for G4X/G4+ Plug-in ECU’s (CANJST)

I'm still on the fence as I know buying that stuff is expensive but it'll all just fit together, and hopefully work.

Sorry mate, I haven't had the opportunity to fit any of it yet so can't give you a real-world experience.

The only splicing should be power/ground and Link told me directly that the ECU should just recognise the Haltech. But also Haltech announced it as well https://www.haltech.com/haltech-wide...ith-link-ecus/

If it weren't for the much higher price, I would've preferred to go all Link components but this should be almost as easy.

Ah cool, it looks like I'd have to do power/ground anyway with the CANJST irrespective of which controller I was using.
Hopefully my dealer here can sort this out!

The only thing that confused me is how to update the firmware of the Haltech, if you don't have their ECU.
I presume you can just download one of their ECU tuning platforms and do it via that ?

So this begs the question, why have Link decided to price it this way in comparison ?
