ZdayZ 2009
Warning -- I will be in Carlisle PA by 9 AM.
I leave New Haven around 4 AM. I will be leaving Weds morning and arriving around dark Wednesday night. Last year it took 14.5 hours, but that included a stop for at least an hour (the bum coming with me was late
) and it was pouring through southern VA and TN / NC. FYI -- if it is raining again, you do NOT want to do that drive in the dark. Water + roads you don't know + no street lights + iffy navigation = NOT cool.

Awesome! Where I'm staying is South Jersey and only 1.5 hours from Carlisle Pa.
Last year, we met up with a group in Memphis and Jackson Tn...The time we crossed the dragon was rainy and densed fog. We actually were left way behind. Was no fun.
All,
The new website rolled out this morning around, YAWN, 02:30 or so. Please check it out www.zdayz.com also there is a small issue integrating the blog into the rest of the site but we hope to have that fixed tonight so please leave your feedback in our blog. Be sure you check out the galleries and the calendar as well as the events section. Of course don't for the the registration.
Don't forget to post your feedback in our Blog, we monitor over a dozen forums and try to complie the feedback into one plocation, so ideally the blog will let you post your feedback to us at our site.

Do you have a target date to get all the registrations and T-Shirts orders in? I imagine you'll need a somewhat accurate count at some point.

We over order a little bit to accomodate the on site registration folks and to have a few give aways for the rest of the year when we attend other events, i.e. Zattack, ZNats, ZCon, etc...
Glad you liked the website, it is a monster. I really think it is the biggest website out there, there are companies whose website is not that large or inclusive. There are 55 pages and over 1 gig of media. More to come...
I'll be shooting a lot at this event! I dont even call myself a photographer... cuz thats way to advanced for what I do. But I'm thinking about shooting some ND filtered shots at night on the dragon! Could looks pretty dang awesome as long as everything goes right!
never been on the dragon at night though.
I'll make sure after the event to get the link to all my shots to all the Z people!

Just like last year, we are going to have a drive-in movie. We had a lot of positive feedback on this event last year so we will do it again!!!
The question is, which movie should we show?
Add your suggestion to our blog, we will select a suggestion for the show:

Note: Keep please keep it PG-13 or cleaner!

DVD or Blu-Ray projector? 1080P? Light output?

I've been on the Dragon at night. It's not nearly as fun IMO. It will be very dark as it's coming off of a new moon at that time of the month. If you're rolling in really late at night, I'd suggest approaching from the East and skip cutting through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
As for regular DVD or Blu-Ray, with a screen that large, you want the highest resolution possible to avoid the screen door effect.
That would be good! I see what you mean with the moving tail lights. Nice idea.
