Seriously, I wonder if Fontana Village Resort would even notice a tent setup behind the cabin. Tents are pretty cheap and can be transported in your Z very easily.

An air mattress inside the cabin should reduce the chances of getting "Tea Bagged" by a bear. However, this does not give you any guarantee that your room mates won't seize the same opportunity.

Thankfully that shouldn't affect the partying at Fontana Village!

I really doubt that it will take that long. That is the only source of income for 4 counties up there. I'm sure the locals will be "voicing" thier opinion. I might have to take a mountain bike trip accross the dragon to get a better view.

But on a plus side, if it is closed, then people might be more inclined to drive all of the great roads in the area. Last year I drove about 5,000 miles in the area scouting roads for the poker run and TSD, there are some great roads up there. I even found a perfect patch of asphault about 4 miles long with ZERO traffic on it. It is out in the middle of nowhere and it is gravel on both ends. Kind of weird, looks like a training area for how to lay perfect asphault!!! tax dollars at work

Stack, speaking of parties, people may not be inclined to drive after some of the night time activites we have planned for this year. I think the Blender might be a raffle item this year.

Do we know where on the Dragon this happened? Maybe it's deep enough in TN that it wouldn't affect the fun so much?

Just received a clarrification for the TNDOT Public Information Officer regarding the September 1 date. The date is an ESTIMATED date. The contract for clearing the slide will be awarded on Monday (3/29), at that time a more accurate opening date will be posted. TNdot DOES SAY it should take several months to clear ...the slide. We will post as soon as we hear updates.
