Default excited

great. how much longer for the rears? I'll take
the fronts first if the rears take longer than 1 month,
but I'd prefer to have them installed all at once.

also, what color are the letters for red caliper version?

thanks,
rob

Rob, I can take your order now for the Front kit. The production are limited at this time. And I can put you on the waiting list for the rear as soon as it's done. It should be that long.

And the Wilwood letters for the red calipers will be silver.

Default pads for big brake kits

This is probably a stupid question:

What pads are available for a kit like this?? What is the expected life of the pad in normal driving conditions? How much will new pads be?

Wiwood themselves offers 6 different compounds for this application. Everything from a dustless and noise free street pad to a full blown race friction. All of their pads are manufactured by Raybestos which is the largest brake manufacturer in the world. They also have one of the largest and most advanced test facilities specializing in racing.

Its impossible to give you an answer regarding your question on longevity of the components because everyone "normal" driving conditions is different. What I can tell you for sure is that because of the better heat dissipation of the new components, keeping everything equal, you will have longer life of all the pieces compared to the stock counterparts.

Price on the brake pads themselves start at $85 for a complete set.

Besides Wilwood, this pad is available from almost every other brake pad manufacturer. Hawk, EBC, Mintex, Ferrodo, Porterfield all have applications for this.

my old lady conned me into getting her an engagement ring so my funds are low.

needless to say, my turbo fund is in the red.

the brakes just look so pretty!

is it a diy mod?? (i did my cats and exhaust, z tube, and i have rebuilt a drum brake setup on a pickup, so i am not a total clown)

the biggest thing (beside cost) dissuading me now is that I would have to get yellow calipers to match my rears, or live with mismatched calipers, or wait for the rears to be available and get the caliper color I want. I am even torn for caliper colors – blue for my car, silver to match the rotors, or gunmetal to match my wheels. Plus I still have that turbo fund to replenish.

I am leaning toward waiting for the full set (front, and rear) to be available.

I know, I am needy

Hit us up with some dyno sheets for that z you turbo charged in the FI section. I am dying to see the curves.

The front kit with the black caliper is $1750. The rear kit is not out yet. But the price will def. be lower since it's only 4 pistons. We are only selling the front kits right now. If you want, order the front calipers now and the rear will be out very soon.
