i dunno. thats pretty damn cool to watch im not gonna lie. I would like to try it as well at a local drift meet. Just for fun and why not?
I agree it's kinda like automotive figure skating with judging and all, but still it takes a lot of skill, looks fun to do and is pretty fun to watch, so all in all that makes it pretty cool really.

They kick the tires loose, whether by yanking the parking brake quick or dropping the clutch, and rely on power to keep the tires spinning.

More torque = less need for emergency brake.

I got to talk to a Nissan Motorsports tech/mechanic and he told me that they are now using the G37 engine with twin turbos on it instead of the Titan engine in Forsbergs drift car. Has anyone else heard this or know the reason for it?

Power sliding is baby drifting and pumping the ebrake and shift lock are only two techniques but there are way more to choose from when going sidewayz. Pumping the ebrake at the right moment does help keep sidewayz tho
