Well he has a VQ35 with 350Z intake manifold (MREV2 and spacer) and performance cams, he also hardwired a UTEC (which is obviously only ment for the 350z) into the 5th gen computer with a full 5th gen maxima wiring harness swap to make the variable valve timing work.

Most VQ swaps into maxima's eliminate the variable valve timing because of having to do a full wiring harness swap (a lot of work) plus nobody has ever manually wired in a utec on a maxima etc.. So he has a lot of innovations on his car.

Basically the motor is a 350z motor for all purposes cause it's got headers, cams, computer, and intake manifold all the things that make the Maxima and 350z engines different. So really there is no difference (other than it's mounted FWD)... He made near 290whp N/A and runs nitrous ontop 200whp.

Read the thread at maxima.org it's funny with only a 75 shot he ran 10.98 then 200 shot 10.85. The extra 125whp coming on in second gear was being ramped with the progressive controller in every gear, so really it wasn't a full 125 extra shot on top ever..

I figure if we eliminated the progressive controller on the second shot and just sprayed 75 shot with it right out of the hole (which we were doing) then spray the 125 near the top of first and leave it on solid the whole way through it would run mid 10's...

There is always next year.

It's tops because no other maxima has gone faster. Not Nissan as a whole, just Maxima.

Well we both did. I crashed my Bike back in 2005 and screwed myself up royally and dad broke his neck in 2007. So take your pick what story you're referring to lol...
