I wouldnt bet on that happening.

Agreed. You can't forget about the HR powered 07+ G35 Sedans and cross compatibility with VHR (G37) motors for many parts too.

That is not true. The 3.5HR will continue to see production in other cars such as the G35 sedan. The VQ37 is still an HR as well. If anything you may start seeing more of a trend later on (when our cars get older) with people swapping HR's into older Z's (such as the 280z/zx swap into previous year S30's). They are still doing R&D on the cars from what I gather.

+1 on the dyno sheets. Im not really worried about 17hp after modes. I want "flash" numbers.

I guess only time will tell, again I have no solid proof to back up the speculation. Im not really stressing, because I wanna improve the driver mod before making any other big changes.

thats the dumbest speculation ever, there is money to be made. No ones going to stop production of a slight possible change up in motors, but since you have an 07hr. Free blow job for you call me..

I don't think I'll be able to resist doing this when it comes out. I'm just hoping it's before the weather warms up. It would be awesome, since I'm not even driving the car right now anyways. So I won't miss it for a couple days to send out the ecu.

Here's your update....

Progress is coming along nicely.

Seriously though... there were some questions here and in another thread that I now have some answers to. Unfortunately I didn't remember which was asked where so I might end up repeating myself in another thread.

First off there were some questions about my original dyno sheets I posted quite some time ago. In the low RPM range there was a significant drop off in power. This isn't a problem with the car and the drop off doesn't actually exist. This is due to the load being placed on the wheels. If a pull was done with inertia and not load then you wouldn't see this. For tuning purposes you want to use load.

Another question that has been asked a few times is about the ECU program used in each model of the Z and if there is a difference. Since the ECU is communicating with other control boxes in the car (TCS, VDC, auto transmission, etc) the programing chances on the ECU, so a new program has to be made for each model. The part of the program that gets changed is probably the same (as far as fuel maps and throttle response) go, but its possible they are located in different parts of the memory.

I believe it was in another threat that I was asked if the program is only built for WOT and if the OEM fuel maps are used in all other situations. This is not the case. The entire fuel map is modified so you are getting the best performance whether you're at 50% throttle or 100% throttle.

It sounds like Technosquare has all the cars they need at this point. An auto trans Z is going in this week to be worked on, so we are getting closer. Their may be a need for a Nismo Z, so if you have one and are local please PM me.

I just asked for some different dyno sheets for you guys so you can see the before and after on a stock Z and as soon as I get them I'll post them up. Pricing is still "unofficial" at this point and I'm not able to disclose it, but as I said before with the new pricing this might be the best mod for the money. Obviously since two reflashes will exist (stock Z and modded Z) you'll have to asked yourself if its better to get your mods installed before flashing or if you'd rather flash now, mod, and then flash later. I know people that have done it both ways on older models with the old pricing... not worth it then, but now it might be more feasible.

If you guys have any more questions please feel free to ask.
