Recall on slave cylinder
Had the recall done a week ago... clutch feel is much smoother on the realease, used to feel like it hung up a bit before.
however it took them three attempts to reset the shifter so I could actually get all 6 forward gears.....they claimed it was the first one they had done, got a free oil change voucher for my trouble.
As I had just bought my car I checked on here that I needed the recall, then I just called Nissan and had them OK going in. Didn't need the letter but had to wait a week for the dealer to get the parts in for me. Took 1 morning and then a couple of hours of screwing around with the shifter....is all good now..

Should this clutch slave cylinder problem discourage me from buying a '07? The one I'm looking at has a VIN that does qualify for the recall, and may or may not have had the recall work done (it's a trade in vehicle with 12,000 miles on it at a local Honda dealership), but they can find out for me if I am serious about that car.

No one has had issues with the new recall part installed yet.

Had my car done also, and *maybe* the engagement point is a bit smoother, but that may all be in my mind.
The best adjustment I had done for the clutch was a simple one:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....=clutch+adjust
I took this "mod" off before I had the recall work done just in case the dealership wanted to give me grief. It made me realize just how much a difference it made to eliminate some of the excess clutch movement. It really makes shifting a lot smoother as it makes it feel like the engagement point is moved down, no more feeling like you have to let the clutch out 3 inches before it starts to grab.
I had my car up on stands just to make sure the clutch fully disengaged also. This isn't like messing with the clevus (the old clutch mod). Give it a try, cheap and easy.

In doing this slave cylinder recall do they have to replace the brake/clutch fluid? If so then I am thinking I may as well buy some Motul RBF600 and have that installed. How much will be needed? Thanks!

Called the dealership and they said Nissan is doing this case by case and the dealer wont order the part until you call them and give them your info. I was trying to setup an appointment and did so but I wanted to speak to someone about the part to make sure they had it in stock and that is when I found out about the way this recall is being done. They are saying it might take 2 weeks to get the part. Good thing I checked first because that would have been a wasted appointment without a part.

does anyone else have a slight vibration in the pedal now after the fix when you put just a little pressure on it?
like if im going down the road and i just touch the clutch pedal i can feel i vibration all the way until its to the floor then it disappears.
i never noticed this before the fix. it doesnt seem like anything if wrong im just curious what that might be

Had Slave Cylinder Recall Done.i Had No Problems With Clutch
Except The Normal Starting Out Clutch Engaged Around The Top ,anyways After I Got It Back You Could Not Get Car To Go Into Fifth Unless You Gently Went To Fifth And Slid It In When You Would Go To Sixth Gear You Could Feel It Jog Over. At First Dealer Says This Is Normal After Making Them Drive It And Drive A New One
Off The Lot .they Say There Is No Ajustment On Shifter So I Would Have To Leave It So They Could Put A New Transmission In It.had To Argue To Get Rental Car They Say It Would Be About A Week. Funny Trans Was Godd Before I Took For The Recal Dont Figure

Also, here are some other things
1.I have so much vibration on the **** in first gear. i dont know if thats normal but i wish someone would check out my car and tell me haha. I mean its ridiculous. the **** goes back and forth slightly and starts shaking.
2. 3rd to 5th gear, if im going at around 3K steady, and i start to slow down, the shifter begins to rattle and vibrate a lot.
Any ideas as to why those two things would occur?
thanks.
Just got the recall done. Clutch pedal feels slightly lighter (felt kinda heavy before). Shifts feel smoother. Doesnt feel like you have to give it the perfect amount of gas when moving from a stop anymore. Car indeed more fun to drive. Happy with recall so far...
I bought a used '07 Enthusiast with 8,600 miles on it yesterday. It was traded into an Infiniti dealership, which is where I bought it from. I am picking the car up tomorrow, but I have driven it twice. The clutch and transmission feel absolutely perfect. I have driven a 2006 base, a 2007 base, a couple other 350Zs, and a 2004 G35 (all MT), and the one that I bought feels much smoother than the others, as far as clutch/shifting goes. My VIN qualifies for the recall. The Infiniti dealer says they don't think the car has had the recall work done, but I will probably have to call Nissan to see if they could look up my VIN to see if it has?
If it hasn't had the recall done, do you guys think it would be a good idea to have it done now, even though it feels fine? I don't want to have it done and the car comes back feeling worse
The clutch does feel rather soft (normal soft, though). I'm just used to the stiffer clutch in my WRX, and in a lot of cars in general.

Have it done. What's worse is when it fails. The clutch pedal falls and stays there until towed into the dealer. Happened to me, had it replaced with an old one and now have to go back and have the recall done.

Somebody break out the Grammar Time avatar!
Ok i took my car to the service this morning at 8 AM sharp. I get there drop off my car and leave... I had made the appt. TWO WEEKS before today. TWO WEEKS!
I get a call, 1:21 PM at work, and the service manager says:
"Ummm yeaaah sooo.... whoever set up your appointment forgot to order the part. So yeah we cant do the work. "
WTF!!!
I MADE THE APPT. TWO DAMN WEEKS AGO! I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THE GUY IF HE HAD CHECKED IF THEY HAD THE PARTS IN STOCK!! i was answered with a casual "yeah sure..."
Now i have to wait till thursday of NEXT week and then bring it back into service. This is ridiculous. Sheehy nissan of annapolis workers officially do not possess intelligence. Now i cant put my intakes nor exhaust for two more weeks!
