Default Wow. Got the recall work done.

What a difference.

I didnt even NOTICE any problems with my 07HR but I figured id stop by Nissan and get it done anyway. I always knew my clutch was different than all of my other Manual cars but I this was my first japanese. Anyway with the old slave cylinder, people and I always had a hard time finding the engage point with my clutch...It was hard to feel out so I had stalled a lot to begin with but eventaully got the hang of it.

Not anymore, I can feel the clutch better now, it feels WAAAAAY lighter and you can feel the engagement perfectly fine. I am not sure if everyone is having this problem but I am loving the car a lot more now...Shifts the same, maybe a little smoother.

Anyway im happy, everyone who drove my car always told me the clutch felt weird.

It took 5 hours and they only replaced the Slave cylinder, not the clutch or anything.

Yeah, my clutch took me longer to get accustomed to with my Z than my previous manuals, so I am excited to get it fixed! As soon as this snow stops, I will be getting this done! I am glad to hear it makes such a big difference.

Did they replace the slave with a newer unit? would that mean the 08 350z has this new slave?

im getting mine done sat. people always said the clutch felt real heavy, and it does compared to my friends 06. i had a little learning curve with stalling a bit in the beginning too... funny that other people were doing the same thing....no one mentioned it....kinda embarrassing. but i got used to the heaviness and sputter in the beginning. looking forward to this improvement.

The 08's might have a new one cuz I don't think I ever had a problem with it. The gear box sux. But thats nissan. It took a while to get use to where it engages. Sometimes I'm lazy and I don't let it go riight. But thats just me. Car does feel really good shifting tho.

Picking my car up today with the new Slave Cylinder....I've already had the clutch, etc. replaced.. When I bought the Z, it took me a couple of days to get used to it, coming from a S2000 which has one of the best gear boxes/clutch ever...Hopefully this recall helps the 1st gear launches and such

Yes, launches are WAY better as of last night.

And yes they replaced the entire Slave cylinder with a brand new one.

Also, from any of you in cold weather, before I had this work done, my clutch was very SPONGY in the morning (30 degrees or below), but not this morning...It was just like normal in this cold weather for once.

Good call on the recall, it def makes this car more fun to drive now.

Shifting is better, launching is better, I just hope that the bad slave cylinder didnt take a bite out of my clutch.

erggggg. I just called my dealer to confirm if they have the part yet since I made the appt 2 weeks ago for Friday.
They dont got it. They said they are getting a run around getting them. Nissan is only sending them once they confirm the VINS and all that.
I cant wait to get it done though from the reports I heard so far

I won't be able to tell the diff. between the new and old slave cylinder coz the dealer did already take care of this issue before they load it into a container and set sail to S.America for me... I just hope that by the time I receive my brand new NISMO #300, everything will be so smooth and the way it should be and not having any kind of BAD surprises.

That's Toyota actually. Your 6spd is built by AISIN - a company wholly owned by Toyota. =)

After egtting my slave cylinder replaced ysterday. My shift **** seems much higher. Everytime I shift it makes a noise. Is this normal? or should I contact the dealership and let them know.

I don't really have a problem on mine except for one time at the track after 5 runs. Never happened again. Clutch feels light as it is I cant imagine driving it if it got lighter. Never have a bucking problem in first either? Strange I want to get it fixed since I am in the recall but not sure what the difference will be
