Default HR in need of plenum spacer?

I think I read somewhere that the new hr engine has no need of a plenum spacer, anyone know if this is true or not?

Not exactly. I'm sure our engines could still benefit from a plenum spacer, but not nearly as much as the DE engines. However, there currently isn't a company that makes a plenum spacer for our car, so i guess it really doesn't matter if it is true or not.

As far as I understand it is pointless for one. It breathes fine. And no need to open it more. Just like intakes on the HR are almost pointless....

The HR plenum does not have the same tall to short angle from front to back that the DE had. The top of the plenum is much more even front to back so a spacer would not really do much IMO for evening out airflow to the cylinders.

it has also been looked into and brought up, someone took theirs apart, and the engineers changed the design in such a way that makes it impossible to make a plenum spacer for the HR engine if i remember correctly. On top of the other things mentioned above, i doubt much if any befefit would be seen from one...

i thought someone posted somewhere that they were somehow making the g37's work for the new z's to see if it helped a bit. it was something how the z's had a benefit for the g and vice versa.

this was the link i was referring to.
