but what is taking so long for HR mods to come out? you know, something other than intakes. TB spacers, plenum spacers, bigger TBs, that Technosquare reflash........you know, simple bolt ons. i know it's fairly new and all, but i am getting impatient, although i don't really have money to blow, so i guess it works out, lol.

anyone?

because the HR engine is pretty much perfect as it is. aftermarket intakes don't do squat other than sound, exhaust might open up a few ponies but at the expense of torque, headers are already equal length, and spacer has already been increased (which accounts for the hood hump). That's what i believe is the reason for so few bolt on mods being released. the HR engine stock is essentially the equivalent of an 03-06 VQ with full bolt ons (minus cams, gears, etc.)

correct me if i'm wrong

wells how about those cams then? Id buy em. Higher rev "kits", and more than one reflash option. Wheres the stand alone and piggy backs. EMU utec...

But yeah i agree, the HR seems to be a very high end motor. test pipes and an exhaust will prob yeild all the hp your gonna get out of it with true bolt ons. A tune yes, and some nitrous will prob be the route for many. Im gearing up for a bore/stroke kit and TT.

You are wrong about the plenum and the hoodhump.

The short run of HR engines isn't helping things. With a new Z coming up and the VQ35VHR in the G37, it probably isn't very profitable or wise for companies to be spending much time and money on R&D for the HR.

There will be no motordyne plenum because of this. Since the plenum wouldn't be compatible with the G37, that means no plenum for the HR, well at least from motordyne.

Let's face it, aftermarket parts don't always make power, so if company really wanted to make a part for the HR, they could do so.

yeah, i was gonna ask the same question soon, but illjim69 was first. it seems like the vendors dont come to this forum alot either. i mean they are the people to know in advance, and they dont know anything coming up for the hr.

Greddy will be releasing their TT kit for the car this summer according to rumor.

UR is suppose to have pulleys for us in a couple more months and you can always put the car on the bottle.

There are no plenum spacers for the HR because it doesn't need it.

And last but NOT least, GT Motorsports has a Stage 6 stroker kit available right now.

I'm pushing 302 to the wheels. Crawford HFCs and Nismo Exhaust. A better exhaust with stock cats will probably do the same.

Vortech is also developing a supercharger right now and Tomei is developing headers, cams, more. Tomei takes there time in development though so don't expect anything to come out soon.

i think nissan was pretty smart with making the hr motor. It doesnt benefit much from simple bolt ons though it seems like its designed perfectly for a nice twin turbo set up which should be on every z owners to do list one day. a car is just better with boost, its a fact
